Utilizando esses pressupostos mapeamos 102 diferentes obras - séries; filmes; curtas; publicidade e propaganda; imagens/ilustração; pinturas; vídeos e clipes; outros - as quais apresentamos no segundo capítulo.

March 21, 2016 If you had the chance to change history, regardless of the consequences, would you? When Jake Epping (James Franco) steps into a closet and travels back to 1960—a Maine diner’s version of Narnia—he’s on a mission to stop the assassination of JFK. Armed with stacks of research from diner owner Al (Chris Cooper), who attempted this mission before, Jake makes a life for himself in the past while staking out Lee Harvey Oswald (Daniel Webber). The past pushes back, however, actively throwing chaos at Jake as he tugs at the threads of history. Developed by Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights) for Bad Robot Productions and Hulu, 11.22.63 is an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name. Rather than the “binge watch” model of Netflix, Hulu went the more traditional route, releasing one episode of the eightpart series every Monday. Each episode also features an orchestral score by Alex Heffes, himself a fan of King’s novels. He approached composing the series as he would a film, but one that runs nine hours. With live musicians and the Newman Scoring Stage at his disposal, Heffes stirred up weekly drama with his sessions for Franco’s man out of time. Kristen Romanelli: I imagine that your connection with [director] Kevin Macdonald brought you to 11.22.63. Alex Heffes: That was the original connection, yeah. Bridget Carpenter, who is the showrunner, had seen quite a few of the movies I’d done with Kevin and a few of the others.

Chair of the Awards, Anne Mensah, said: “The standard of television this year has been incredible and provided audiences with both comfort and escapism, as well as new and underrepresented perspectives, in what has been such a turbulent time for all of us. We are very much looking forward to celebrating the talented individuals and teams who continue to produce world class content, later this month.” The Craft & Design Awards accept entries from both individual craftspeople and broadcasters, and the juries take into consideration production difference, budget and time scale involved.

  • Interview with Alex Heffes :: Film Music Magazine
Home / Composer Profile / Interview with Alex Heffes Interview with Alex Heffes By Daniel Schweiger • May 24, 2016 For a United Kingdom native with such diverse scores as “Escape Plan,” “State of Play,” Touching the Void” and “Dear Frankie” under his English language belt, Alex Heffes has likely traversed the musical continent of Africa more than any of his peers. Beginning his explorations with a harrowing escape from Uganda in “The Last King of Scotland,” Heffes took an emotional journey of education alongside “The First Grader,” then brought moving importance to the continent’s greatest leader in “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.” Later this year, he’ll even be showing determined woman self worth through the game of chess when Heffes makes a full circle back to a far more stable Uganda in the forthcoming “Queen of Katwe.” Now the composer’s impressive way of capturing Africa’s rhythmic cultures will literally seize its people, and one man in particular, for a new TV take on “Roots.” Author Alex Haley’s ancestor Kunta Kinte first arrived on ABC’s shores in 1977, the telling of his family history turned into a smash hit miniseries that truly created “event” television. Feeling that any great tale is worth repeating to a new generation, these newly burnished “Roots” arrive on Memorial Day to air over four consecutive nights on multiple cable networks. Given a similarly massive, star filled cast, and overseen by multiple, acclaimed directors, it’s up to Alex Heffes to become a vital chain in spanning slavery to freedom. Heffes’ impressively accomplishes this mighty task with a score that starts out with all the pride of a continent, only to be seized into a terrifying, musically modernistic world of sampling and percussion.

  • Sona Jobarteh
SONA JOBARTEH Sona Jobarteh is the first female Kora virtuoso to come from a west African Griot family. Breaking away from tradition, she is a pioneer in an ancient male-dominated hereditary tradition that has been exclusively handed down from father to son for the past seven centuries. Reputed for her skill as an instrumentalist, distinctive voice, infectious melodies and her grace onstage, Sona has rapidly risen to international success following the release of her critically acclaimed album “Fasiya” (Heritage) in 2011. The Kora (a 21-stringed African harp) is one of the most important instruments belonging to the Manding peoples of West Africa (Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau). It belongs exclusively to griot families (hereditary musical families), and only those who are born into one of these families have the right to take up the instrument professionally. Sona, who was born into one of the five principal Griot families, has become the first female to take up this instrument professionally in a male tradition that dates back over seven centuries. Sona's family carries a heavy reputation for renowned Kora masters, notably her grandfather Amadu Bansang Jobarteh who was an icon in Gambia’s cultural and musical history, and her cousin Toumani Diabaté who is renowned for his mastery of the Kora. In recent years Sona has quickly been rising to international success, headlining major festivals around the world in Brazil, India, South Korea, Ghana, Mexico, Tanzania, Cote D’Ivoire, Lithuania, Poland and Malaysia just to name a few. Sona and her music has the unique ability to touch audiences from all backgrounds and cultures.
