The sound quality is just about perfect- The CDS sound so much better than all of the MP3 computer devices and Bible on Smart Phones because the CDs have a better signal to noise ratio and a better Dynamic Range than all of the computer devices. If you play this on a good CD player ( I use a professional Tascam CD Recorder/ Player) then it will sound like our beloved Alexander Scourby is there by your side reading! What a treat !But I only gave 4 starts because you will have some CDS that skip sometimes. That is because of the mass duplication in the production of the CDS had some errors. But for the cheap price I got these I can live with that I guess This is a fine set and will likely purchase more as gifts in the future. Love listiening to the narrator and the storage case is topnotch. Can recommend. I haven't been able to listen to all the bible CDs, but I have enjoyed the ones I have... I have a rather long daily commute. With Scourby's KJV Old Testament/CD, I fell in love with the Bible "again" for the first time. In ordering Scourby's KJV New Testament/CD, I was not disappointed. My endorsement of BOTH of these products is heartfelt and without qualification. My commute is now a joy and a pleasure. great!! This purchase was a Blessing to me Awesome quality I recommend this product to everyone who wants to know the new testament better. I want another for my other vehicle, so I can listen anytime I want. The narration by Scourby is easy to understand, but some of the others who talk their parts, may be difficult to understand. The product I got had 16 cds and not 14 as advertised. Landmark Site: Borough of Manhattan Tax Map Block 1000, Lot 49. On June 14 and 15, 1982, the Landmarks Preservation Commission held a public hearing on the proposed designation as a Landmark of the Cort Theater and the proposed designation of the related Landmark Site (Item No. 24). The hearing was continued to October 19, 1982. Both hearings had been duly advertised in accordance with the provisions of law. Eighty witnesses spoke or had statements read into the record in favor of designation. One witness spoke in opposition to designation. The owner, with his representatives, appeared at the hearing, and indicated that he had not formulated an opinion regarding designation. The Commission has received many letters and other expressions of support in favor of this designation. DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS The Cort Theater survives today as one of the historic theaters that symbolize American theater for both New York and the nation. Built in 1912- 13, the Cort is among the oldest surviving theaters in New York. It was designed by arc hi teet Thomas Lamb to house the productions of John Cort , one of the country's major producers and theater owners.     Working Through and Against Conventions: The Hollywood Career of A.I. Bezzerides Yiorgos Kalogeras Albert Isaac Bezzerides (1908-2007) belongs to a generation of writers who came into relative prominence in the 1930s at a time when “the open door” immigration policy of the U.S.A. had become a thing of the past (1924).1 The consequences of the Reed-Johnson Act were almost immediate and felt by the “new immigrants” and the “natives.”2 The realization that the majority of the immigrants were there to stay and become part of the U.S.A. was solidified. In the meantime, the 1930s and the Great Depression had created the need for another kind of literature still modern and experimental yet socially more aware. William Faulkner refocused the attention of his audience on the regional, giving voice and valorizing the under trodden who established their presence in the New South after the Civil War. Their domain was Yoknapatawpha County, Faulkner’s mythological terrain; and their representation emerged as part of the modernistic project of the 20th century. F. Scott Fitzgerald, on the other hand, sensed the tremors that the immigrants and their children created in a U.S.A. society which in the 1920s was divided between new and old money. Chapter five in The Great Gatsby (1925) provided the names of those who claimed not only the space of Gatsby’s mansion, frequented his parties, and were eager to draw their host’s attention, but also those whose parents had responded to “the pandering voice” of America. Fitzgerald’s Nick Carraway the novel’s narrator creates an aura of ambiguity around Jay Gatsby.
