18 The Voice of Delhi february 2017 19 the Lord and your spirit is blended with nature and God’s divine power. This Holy sanctified place moves you into a different world. After reflecting and praying on 11th to 14th Station, Fr. Stanely Kozhichira welcomed our group and in very humble and simple tone asked us to sit in silence in front of the Lord, talk to nature and experience the love of God. Fr. Stanley explained that church is made in the form of Star and the tabernacle is like a Crown of Stars symbol of Mother Mary. We wanted to have small adoration, but Fr. Stanely suggested just remain in silence and speaking to God, as St. Teresa says just give 15 minutes of your whole hearted time every day to Jesus and she will take us to heaven.

Ish Vatika is a very peaceful place, far from madding crowd no noise no traffic in the midst of green area. This is a very good initiative of the Diocese under the leadership of Arch Bishop Anil and assistance of Fr. Stanely. This place is more for meditation purpose, with small huts named Jeevan Vrish, Tree of Life for staying and spending quality time with nature and God, a heart touching, sacred and very divine place of worship. Fr. Stanley has kept few pets, birds etc. A plant for Solar Energy and water purification is also under operation through the hard work of Fr. Stanely. It is a request to every Catholic Church to visit Ish Vatika once in their lives and you would be enlightened to visit Ish Vatika more often. Praise be the Lord for this beautiful church. The day was concluded having late lunch and photo sessions. We all felt very happy and blessed during this Lenten Season to have this wonderful pilgrim trip to three churches and most especially the Ish Vatika. Lot of work needs to be done in Ish Vatika and we seek heavenly father’s blessing to complete all the tasks of Fr. Stanely and the Vision of Arch Bishop Anil.

omen’s day celebration was organised by Vasant Kunj Parish. Ms. Leeza Joseph Wfrom Caritas India was the resource person. To understand the stereotype among the participants, they were divided into women, boys and girls groups. The participants came up with roles and responsibilities as understood by the society, culture and tradition. For example some said family is taken care by the men, takes up the job to care for the family, boys work hard, women cook food, girls have less freedom, they are more sensitive, women give up their desire for the family and they care for others etc. It was interesting to know how all of us are conditioned through our culture, up bringing and culture.

A short movie “Muskan” on gender stereotype and gender construction was shown to theparticipants. After which there was discussion which helped them to reflect that man and woman, boys and girls all are equal with their strength and weaknesses. There are some proverbs and saying in the society which looks at women as second class and as an object. Some of the sayings are-

• Woman’s brain is under the heel.

• Money, property and woman, all these are reasons for fight.

• Teaching a daughter is equal to irrigating/ watering the neighbour’s plant

Some case scenarios were presented before the participants and they were asked to respond their action if they were in that situation. This was done to make them to understand the reaction of them in the given situations. Few women, men, and youth were called to play the breaking of the balloon game to hear from them the power game. How it feels when someone overpowers the one who is weak. A just society is built when man and woman, work together. Both have their strength and weakness and both needs to be encourage to grow together.

Earlier Fr. Frederick D’Souza, Parish Priest celebrated the mass, in which women animated the liturgy like readings, singing and offertory procession. The day concluded with men giving gifts to all the women and having a lunch together.

february 2017 29 The program commenced with the hearty welcome to chief guest His Grace and great dignitaries with Kumkum and sprinkling of flowers by the teachers of Rosary School, Narela and Rosary Senior Secondary School, Kheri Manajat which were accompanied by the doorstep welcome dance performance by the out-going students of class 5th. Thereafter the teachers gave a thunderous welcome to His Grace and all the distinguished guests with saplings.

Distinguished guests performed a grand lighting ceremony with the teachers symbolising the motto of the school “LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE.” This was followed by the prayer dance by the teachers of both the schools. Thereafter the guests were taken through a glimpse of the fruitful celebration of the Inaugural of Crystal Jubilee Year through a digital presentation. The teachers then performed a skit on the theme “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” which showcased how the parents, the teachers, and the school help in the development of the students and how in turn it leads to the development of the nation.

When we honour the past, we energize the future and the present becomes a celebration. The celebration continued with the felicitation of our senior-most staff who have contributed in their way to make Rosary School what it is today. They are Mr. Rolend, Mrs. Mavis and Mrs. Meenu. His Grace awarded them with mementos. Thanks to them for being an inspiration to many. The winners of the Board Decoration completion conducted for teachers were given gifts. His Grace honoured the former principals with Cadres. The Most Rev. Archbishop unveiled a slated colourful magazine for the Crystal Jubilee year. This magazine is the first of its kind in the 15 years of existence of Rosary School, Narela. His Grace awarded the students who achieved excellence in education with the Crystal Jubilee Scholarship. The scholarship is also the first of its kind in 15 years. Fr. Kulandi Samy honoured the participants of the Inter-School Carol singing competition held at Montfort School with certificates. The archbishop in his speech highlighted that we need to give value based education in order to lead a life of truth filled with values. The outgoing students of class 5th were gifted with crayons and Crystal Jubilee Cup as a token of love by former principal Rev. Fr. Vincent Crasta. After the formal function, a cultural dance was diligently organised on the theme “OUR CULTURE OUR PRIDE” by the teachers of both the schools. The program came to an end with an exalting closing ceremony followed by the school anthem.

This closing ceremony of the Crystal Jubilee Year could be well called the year of gratitude because we have so much to be thankful for. As we celebrated the end of the Crystal Jubilee Year it is good to remember that there is no true ending but just a new beginning of another era for our Rosary institution of initiation of learning.

"Fun and relaxation beyond four walls" Mrs.Tapsya

staff picnic for Rosary School Narela and Rosary School Kheri AManajat was organized on 1st March 2021. Rev. Fr. Savariraj, the principal, headmistress Sr. Saguntala and staff members made our way to Limca Book of Records-Morning Star Church at 8:30am with prayer and a feeling of a great day ahead. Songs, snacks and smiling faces made the journey a befitting beginning to a fun filled day. We reached at 10:30 am to the picnic spot at Kair in Najafgarh.

Rev. Fr. Stanley Kozhichira welcomed us. He briefed the history of Morning Star Church. Morning Star Church is the only church in the world in the shape of a star. It looks like a star from all five sides of the pentagon along with the Arial View, which makes the star in six dimension of the structure. The structure is designed as to look like a star from the exterior while it looks like a tent from the interior. Very less amount of concrete has been used to make the shape of the star. Hence, the material has been sourced from Russia. There were only three trees in the beginning that is why those trees are called mother trees. Morning Star Church is known as Ish Vatika. People come here to spend their time with God and the nature. Ish Vatika gives inner peace and joy in one’s heart. There are 4 cottages, a tree house, windmills, animals and birds. The entire campus is lit with solar energy. There is a small canal with fountains. It also has swings. There are aquariums, which attract people.

Ish Vatika gave an experience of being surrounded by greenery and beauty of Eco friendly nature. We enjoyed every moment with mesmerizing canal view, random photography in the greenish land, which is full of trees. The most enjoyable time was in the play area with swings and photography on tree house. After a tiring and fun packed morning we all headed for lunch. The lunch was surely appetizing. A group picture was taken where the teachers modeled in different poses and funny faces. We played antakshari in the lawn. Some teachers danced on the floor with great energy.

The bus started homeward journey at 3:30 pm. We finished the day with Lord’s Prayer “Our Father” thanking the lord for safe and wonderful day. All the teachers expressed a desire to revisit the place again. Everyone had a big smile on their faces, which indicated that they had a marvelous day. A big thanks to our beloved Rev. Fr. Savariraj, the principal and Sr. Saguntala, the headmistress for arranging such a wonderful day. The Morning Star Church is part of the Eco Spiritual centre of the Archdiocese of Delhi. It is designed and conceptualized by Rev. Fr. Stanley Kozhichira.

24 The Voice of Delhi Kheri Manajat Rosary Sr Sec School Manager: Fr. Savariraj Augustine Headmistress: Sr. Amala Vincy "A picnic is a state of mind and can be made anywhere" Ms. Neha Gloria Soreng

n 1st March 2021, we the Rosarians of Rosary School, Narela and ORosary Senior Secondary School, Kheri Manajat went for a memorable picnic at ISH VATIKA, Najafgarh both teaching and managerial staff. The flow of happiness among us all was at its peak while preparing for the picnic. Everybody was excited about this outdoor experience.

Finally, the day had arrived we gathered at the Rosary School, Narela around 8 o'clock and we all were on our way to the picnic. The staff picnic helped the teachers to interact and create a family- like bond with one another. All of us enjoyed ourselves a lot on the bus. Finally, the moment we reached the destination we all were very excited, as the surrounding was so green, calm and relaxing. As soon as we reached, we met Fr. Stanley Kozhichira, the National President of the Catholic Media Organisation. He is a great, fun-loving personality and Director of Ish Vatika. As soon as we entered, Father informed us about the building structure of the Morning Star Church. We were all excited like little kids in the park. The Morning Star Church is designed in a six dimension shape of a star. It appears to be a star from all sides, even from the top and from inside, it looks like a tent. This place focuses on meditation, reflection, prayer, nature and organic farming. It reflects in line with the church philosophy of being one with nature, promotes ecology and ecosystem and even cottages are provided for staying inside the campus. Pure and simple food is provided for healthy living. We enjoyed a lot, clicking pictures, roaming around and exploring the green Ish Vatika. The picturesque scene was imprinted into our minds forever.

We played antakshri and everybody danced together. In the end, Mr. Antony the class teacher of VI- A gave a vote of thanks to all especially to Fr. Stanley. Even though the picnic was over yet that spirit is still alive in us. All the good time we spent together was worth it and would be with us in our memories forever.

34 The Voice of Delhi february 2017 35 where Clergy, Laity and Religious accept each other as brothers and sisters and witness collectively to the gospel in their neighborhoods and respond prophetically to the challenges faced by society. The church teachings on Basic Ecclesial Communities - BECs/SCCs indicates that BECs/SCCs is not an end itself, but a tool to reach our vision of the Vat II model of participatory church as proposed by FABC in 1990. The course then goes through all the main theological topics and its praxis in order to show that the New Way of Being Church is what all theological principles indicate. We found that what we study in theology in not what we practice. We follow very strictly the liturgical norms in order to understand how it can change people’s lives and how SCC can help living the Sacraments more profoundly and meaningfully. The methodology employed all through the course was facilitating style, enabling the participants to contribute to the learning process and learned through the interactions of the whole group. Each one had a chance to reflect what he/she learned.

The whole course is designed beautifully to have a comprehensive knowledge and experience of BECs. The topic after topic led the participants deeper into the shared mission of the church. The Resource Persons for the course includes Bp. Ignatius Mascarenhas of Simla-Chandigarh, the Chairman of BECs Commission, CCBI, Rev. Frs. Vijay Thomas & George Jacob, SAC, Rev. Frs. Peter Emmanuel & Balaraju Anthony Swamy of Archdiocese of Delhi, Fr. Joachim Fernandes, Mangalore Diocese, Sr. Meena from Sambalpur Diocese and Mrs. Jyotsna Lal from PAC, Nagpur.

We really experienced the spirit of the early Christian Community living together in fellowship as clergy, religious and layman during our 30 days of stay at PAC, praying, learning, eating and playing together. For me personally, this course has given a new enthusiasm and energy for building the Body of Christ BECs/SCCs with a clear sense of the New Way of Being Church now. In the New Ecclesiology, I learnt that clergy and laity are not meant to be two parallel structures in the church but both together form one communion. We together to evangelize our neighborhood.

International Women's Day Celebration 2021 Shanthi Chin

On March 07 2021, the Women's Council of Church of Our Lady of Graces, Vikaspuri, celebrated International Women's Day. It was a beautiful gathering after a long time, especially keeping in mind the COVID-19 lockdown and protocols that were in place. The entire Women's Council members came forward and collectively participated & celebrated the occasion. Father Deepak, the Parish Priest was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass. His graceful words and preaching were encouraging. Father Deepak has always supported, guided and motivated all the Associations in the church. Members of the Council animated the Holy Eucharist with an introductory on Women’s Day, liturgy, and offertory collection. Sincere thanks to both the Parish Priests for their pastoral care and guidance. A special mention to all the members of the Women's Council, who stood by one another, supported and motivated each other. May they continue to be one in service to the Lord and the Community.

34 The Voice of Delhi february 2017 35 MIRACULOUS PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Holy Spirit, You who makes me see everything and shows me the way to reach my ideal, You who gives me the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and You who are in all instances of my life with me, I, in this short dialogue, want to thank You for everything and affirm once more that I never want to be separated from You, no matter how great the material desires may be. I want to be with You and my loved once in Your perpetual glory. Amen.

This prayer should be said for 3 consecutive days without saying your wish or intension. After the 3rd day, your sincere wish will be granted no matter how difficult it may be. Promise to offer thanksgiving by sharing it and expressing it on granting of your favour. The idea is to spread the wonder of the Holy Spirit.
