Church had its beginning in Palestine with the historical Pentecost in Jerusalem, which happened subsequent to the resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church, thus started, spread to other regions of the world with the effort of the preaching of the Gospel by the Apostles to the people. As it spread, certain cities, like Jerusalem Antioch, Alexandria and Constantinople in the East and Rome in the West of the Roman Empire, and India & Mesopotamia outside the Roman Empire, became centres of Christian life and missionary endeavours. Catholic Church is the true manifestation of the Church of Christ having the Faith and Traditions as its sources, together with apostolic origin as the founding link. Those in full communion with the Catholic Church are those joined with Christ in his visible body, through the bonds of profession of faith, the sacraments and ecclesiastical governance (cf. Canon 205); they accept the authority of Pope even though they have different practices in Liturgy and traditions of faith.
