MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

November 16, 2020

The regular meeting of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education was called to order by President Carol Houck at 7:00 P.M. on the above date in the Multi-Purpose Room of the , 1824 Dr. Dennis Foreman Drive, Mays Landing, .

Secretary Grossi read the following statement:

This is to advise those present at this meeting of the Board of Education of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, in the County of Atlantic, that adequate notice has been given of this meeting as required by the provisions of Chapter 231 of the Laws of 1975; that notice thereof has been forwarded for publication in the District official newspapers, posted in the Absegami, Oakcrest and Cedar Creek High Schools, and forwarded to all of the Clerks of the municipalities within this school district within the time required by said Act.

On motion by Guenther, seconded by Baldwin, recommending approval of Minutes minutes of the following meetings:

Upon Roll Call Vote – Vote (Yes) Baldwin, Capone, Erickson, Guenther, Houck and Kehrli. Vote (Abstain) Edmonds, Garrison and Sartorio on Executive, Vote (Yes) on all others. Motion approved.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Brenda Callaghan gave presentations on School Safety Data System and HIB Self-Assessment Grades for the 2019/2020 school year. Board members had questions that Mrs. Callaghan and Mr. Keenan addressed.

Negotiations Committee – Dr. Erickson gave update. Mediation scheduled for December 16, 2020.

Program Committee – Mrs. Guenther gave report.

On motion by Garrison, seconded by Sartorio, recommending approval of the following:

Approve the report of The Secretary A148 for the period ending Secretary’s September 30, 2020. This report is in agreement with the Treasurer's records Report A149. This approval is required within sixty (60) days for Board Action.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.12(d)(e), we certify that as of September 30, 2020, the Board secretary's monthly financial report (appropriations section) did not reflect an over expenditure in any of the major accounts or funds, and based on the appropriation balances reflected on this report and the advice of district officials, we have no reason to doubt that the district has sufficient funds available to meet its financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. Approve the final adjusted report of The Secretary A148 for the period Secretary’s ending June 30, 2020. This report is in agreement with the final adjusted Report Treasurer's records A149. This approval is required within sixty (60) days for Board Action.

RESOLUTION OF THE GREATER EGG HARBOR REGIONAL HIGH Send/Receive SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION. APPROVING SENDING- Relationship RECEIVING RELATIONSHIP FORM OF CONTRACT.

WHEREAS, for some time last past the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education (“GEHR”) and the Board of Education for the City of Absecon (“Absecon”) have been engaged in the negotiation of a form of agreement for the sending of Absecon public school students to GEHR for grades 9 through 12 on a tuition basis; and

WHEREAS, the establishment of such a relationship requires that it first be approved by the Commissioner of Education of the State of New Jersey (“Commissioner”); and,

WHEREAS, Absecon has filed the necessary Petition to the Commissioner seeking approval to establish a sending-receiving relationship with GEHR for grades 9 through 12, it being anticipated that hearings will be conducted and evidence will be presented to the Commissioner during the first quarter of 2021, and

WHEREAS, the negotiations between GEHR and Absecon have been successful and the parties have reached agreement on the provisions of a formal sending-receiving relationship contract, which has been recommend to this board for approval by both the GEHR Superintendent of Schools and the GEHR Board Solicitor;

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the GEHR Board of Education that the recommended form of sending-receiving relationship contract heretofore negotiated with Absecon, and recommended to this Board for approval, be and the same is hereby approved. Exhibit B-8

Approve submission of application for School Security Grant. Grant School award is $198,925. Grant Project Directors: Tom Grossi and Dave Berret Security Grant Upon Roll Call Vote – Motion approved.

TRANSPORTATION AGENDA On motion by Guenther, seconded by Edmonds, recommending approval of the following:

Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High Quoted School District and Sheppard Bus Service. Transportation is needed for three Contract Egg Harbor Township School District students to Egg Harbor Township High School. The route (EHT-W) will run October 27, 2020 through June 30, 2021 at a cost of $113.00 per diem for a total cost of $16,611.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Egg Harbor Township School District.

Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High Quoted School District and Delaware City Bus Company. Transportation is needed for Contract one Egg Harbor Township School District student to Alder Avenue Middle School. The route (EHT-Y) will run November 4, 2020 through June 30, 2021 at a cost of $128.95 per diem for a total cost of $18,181.95. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Egg Harbor Township School District.

Approve the joint transportation agreement between Greater Egg Harbor Joint Regional High School District and Ventnor School District for the 2019/2020 Transportation school year. The joint agreement involves the transport of one Ventnor School Agreement District student to Alder Avenue Middle School (Route EHT-S) for a total cost of $6,681.70. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Ventnor School District.

Approve the joint transportation agreement between Egg Harbor Joint Township School District and Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Transportation for the 2020/2021 school year. The joint agreement involves the transport of one Agreement Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School student to Atlantic County Institute of Technology (Route 72HS) for a total cost of $1,023.96.

Approve the joint transportation agreement between Cherry Hill School Joint District and Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District for the 2020/2021 Transportations school year. The joint agreement involves the transport of one Egg Harbor Agreement Township School District student to Burlington County Special Services School District. The student was assigned to Route BCS-1 from September 10, 2020 through September 30, 2020 for a total cost of $279.30 and moved to Route BCS- 2 from October 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 for a total cost of $13,550.58. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Egg Harbor Township School District.

• Gave update on principal search – expecting an appointment on December 14, 2020 • There is a possibility we will need a special meeting on November 30 • Shout out to New Jersey School Boards Association for their virtual workshop • Wished everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving

OLD BUSINESS

• Mr. Kehrli asked about solar and Mr. Grossi addressed • Mrs. Capone asked about walkway and Mr. Keenan addressed • Mr. Sartorio asked about upcoming meetings and Mr. Keenan stated we will be going virtual

NEW BUSINESS

• Mrs. Capone spoke about the election. It was historical and secure. • Mr. Kehrli congratulated Mrs. Guenther and Mrs. Capone on their 3-year re-election and Mr. Edmonds on his 1-year election
