Adequate notice has been given of this meeting as required by Law. Notice has been forwarded for publication in the District official newspapers, posted in the Absegami, Cedar Creek and Oakcrest High Schools, and forwarded to all of the Clerks of the municipalities within this school district.

There are two opportunities to address the members of the Board. The Board values and welcomes comments and opinions from residents as long as remarks are not personal or discourteous. The public comment portion of the meeting allows the Board to listen to community members and to hear their opinions on school policy and operations.

The first public portion is reserved for persons wishing to speak about agenda items only. The second opportunity, following the action items, is when residents may address the Board on any school-related issue. Each speaker is asked to limit their comments to three minutes and you are not permitted to yield your time to another. The public comment portion of the meeting, during both sessions, will not exceed 30 minutes. Upon being recognized, persons wishing to speak should stand and identify themselves by name and town.

The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Hamilton Township School District.

Transportation is needed for one Galloway Township School District student to Reeds Road School. The route (RR-G) will run September 30, 2019 through April 30, 2020 at a cost of $149.00 per diem for a total cost of $19,519.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Galloway Township School District. T-6 Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and James Transportation. Transportation is needed for two Egg Harbor Township School District students to Ventnor Elementary School. The route (EHT-O) will run October 1, 2019 through April 23, 2020 at a cost of $159.00 per diem for a total cost of $19,557.00. Transportation is needed for one Hammonton School District student to Bankbridge Regional School (GCSSSD). The route (BBRE2) will run October 3, 2019 through February 12, 2020 at a cost of $244.95 (includes aide) for a total cost of $19,596.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Hammonton School District.

T-8 Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and James Transportation. Transportation is needed for one Hamilton Township School District student to Gateway Head Start (preschool). The route (HT-19) will run October 7, 2019 through May 8, 2020 at a cost of $148.00 per diem for a total cost of $19,536.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Hamilton Township School District.

T-9 Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and On Time Transport. Transportation is needed for one Washington Township School District student to Atlantic County Special Services School District. The route (ACS-GE6) will run October 10, 2019 through January 9, 2020 at a cost of $380.00 (includes aide) for a total cost of $19,380.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Washington Township School District.

Transportation is needed for three Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School Districts students at Oakcrest High School following an after-school activity program. The route (OHS-ACT) will run October 15, 2019 through October 29, 2019 at a cost of $150.00 per diem for a total cost of $750.00.

T-11 Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and James Transportation. Transportation is needed for one Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District student to Cedar Creek High School and one Mullica Township School District student to Mullica Township Elementary Schools. The route (CCHS-F) will run October 17, 2019 through May 1, 2020 at a cost of $165.00 per diem for a total cost of $19,470.00. The transportation cost will be shared between Greater Egg Harbor Regional and Mullica Township School Districts.

T-12 Approve the quoted contract between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and Sheppard Bus Service. Transportation is needed for ten Buena Regional School District students to Collings Lakes School (preschool). The route (704) will run October 21, 2019 through January 27, 2020 at a cost of $343.00 per diem (includes aide) for a total cost of $19,551.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Buena Regional School District.

T-13 Approve the joint transportation agreement between Camden County Educational Services Commission (CCESC) and Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District for the 2019/2020school year. The joint agreement involves the transport of one Egg Harbor Township School District student to Eastern High School (Route 1695) for a total cost of $58,023.00. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Egg Harbor Township School District.

T-14 Approve the joint transportation agreement between Camden County Educational Services Commission (CCESC) and Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District for the 2019/2020 school year. The joint agreement involves the transport of one Egg Harbor Township School District student to Durand Academy (Route SDR1) for a total cost of $19,888.94. The transportation cost will be the responsibility of Egg Harbor Township School District.

T-18 Approve the revised motion from the September 23, 2019 Board of Education meeting – motion to approve adjustment in cost of the joint transportation agreement between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and Hammonton School District for the 2019/2020 school year. The original cost of $35,370.00 (Route BDC) is being reduced to $24,890.00 due to the removal of one student and the original cost of $6,516.66 (Route RR-F) is being increased to $15,141.66 with the addition of an aide. The revised costs will be the responsibility of Hammonton School District.

T-19 Approve the revised motion from the September 23, 2019 Board of Education meeting – motion to approve adjustment in cost of the joint transportation agreement between Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District and Folsom School District for the 2019/2020 school year. The original cost of $36,033.12 (Route CCTS) is being increased to $37,350.99 with the addition of one student and the original cost of $560.93 (Route CM07) is being reduced to $80.86 with the removal of the student. The revised costs will be the responsibility of Folsom School District.

E-6 Sustainable Jersey

Whereas—The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education seeks to participate in Sustainable Jersey for Schools to focus attention and efforts on matters of sustainability and pursue initiatives that will lead to Sustainable Jersey for Schools Certification.

Whereas—The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education and District Superintendent seek to support and work with school staff and administrators, students, and parents to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students by encouraging our school community to implement sustainable, energy-smart, eco-friendly, and cost-effective solutions.

Whereas—Extensive opportunities exist to teach students about ecological, economic and social sustainability, environmental health, and nutrition; to integrate sustainability education into classroom learning; and to support students in becoming leaders in making their schools healthier and more sustainable places.

Whereas—Many options and choices exist for schools to use resources more efficiently; to to form school partnerships; to eliminate toxic chemicals; to purchase (or produce) clean energy; and to purchase recycled paper, energy-efficient equipment and other green products to protect our global environment.

Whereas—Sustainability means using resources wisely, saving money, and reducing our impact on the environment, all of which will ensure the future health, safety, and prosperity of our children.

Whereas—The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education commits to the formation of Sustainability Leadership Teams (also referred to as “Green Teams”), based on the guidance of Sustainable Jersey for Schools.

Whereas—Green Team members help schools adopt policies and practices addressing areas such as sustainability education and professional training, green purchasing, waste reduction, indoor air quality, energy-saving initiatives, and community partnerships.

Whereas—The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education will encourage Green Teams at all district schools by providing networking and educational opportunities.

Therefore, it is resolved that the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District Board of Education agrees to participate in Sustainable Jersey for Schools, and it is the board’s intention to pursue certification for schools in the district.

We hereby appoint John Keenan, District Superintendent, to be the district’s liaison to Sustainable Jersey for Schools.

We do hereby recognize our School(s) as the agent(s) to carry out our commitment to building a sustainable school district through the implementation of Sustainable Jersey for Schools actions.

We agree to complete district actions and to support the district’s schools in completing their actions.
