A Workshop for the prospective investors was organized by HAFED and HSIIDC on 30.04.2019 at Ethnic , Rai (Sonepat) regarding promotion of upcoming two Mega Food Parks in .

A workshop for the prospective investors was organized by the Department of Co- operation Haryana with HAFED and the Department of Industries Haryana with HSIIDC at Ethnic India, Rai (Sonepat) on April 30th 2019. The main objective of the workshop was to promote two upcoming Mega Food Parks in Haryana, one of which is being set up at Barhi (Sonepat) by HSIIDC and the other at IMT Rohtak by the HAFED.

Smt. Pushpa Subrahmanyam, IAS, Secretary– Ministry of Industries, was the Chief Guest and the other eminent luminaries included Smt. Jyoti Arora, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana Department of Cooperation, and Sh. Devender Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana Department of Industries & Commerce, M. Shayin, IAS, Managing Director, Haryana Dairy Federation and Dr. Narhari Singh Banger, HCS, Managing Director HSIIDC.

In her inagural address, Smt. Pushpa Subrahmanyam, IAS elaborated upon various benefits available to different stakeholders under the Mega Food Park Scheme and the SAMPADA Yojana (Scheme for Agro- Marine Processing and Development of Agro- Processing Clusters) of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. She encouraged the investors to take advantage of these schemes and also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Cooperation and the Department of Industries Haryana for making timely efforts to invite investments in the upcoming two Mega Food Parks in Haryana.

Smt. Jyoti Arora, IAS in her special address emphasized upon the proposed state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern facilities coming up in the Mega Food Parks. She especially highlighted the key features and invstment potential of the Mega Food Park in Rohtak being set-up by HAFED. She invited the investors to set up units in the Mega Food Park and assured whole hearted support on behalf of the State Government and the Department of Cooperation.

Sh. Devender Singh, IAS initiated the workshop by welcoming Smt. Pushpa Subrahmanyam, IAS, Secretary, MOFPI (Government of India) alongwith other senior dignitaries present at the workshop. He gave an overview of existing and upcoming Food Parks in the State and the world-class enabling facilities being made available, positioning Haryana as a lucrative avenue for the investors.

Sh. Karnail Singh Lathar, Addl. G.M., HAFED addressed the audience and gave a detailed presentation on the Mega Food Park Rohtak. It was shared by him that this Mega Food Park is spread across 50 acres and is being set up by HAFED with the total project cost of about Rs.180 crores. It was informed that besides the Common Infrastructure being made available, several policies, schemes interventions have been introduced both at Central and State level with a view to give a boost to Food Processing industries, and assist entrepreneurs in setting up industries in the Mega food Parks. NABARD is also providing term loan at attractive rate of interest to the investors for setting up of units in the Mega Food Parks. He emphasised that besides availability of raw material in abundance, best connectivity by Road and Railways make the park one of the most preferred business destination. It was informed that HAFED is likely to initiate the process of leasing out of plots of the Mega Food Park Rohtak in June, 2019 and this park would be made fully operational within the given deadline of the MOFPI i.e. upto August, 2020.

M. Shayin, IAS, Managing Director, Haryana Dairy Federation delivered vote of thanks and informed that another workshop would also be conducted shortly for the prospective reputed investors in which Haryana Dairy would associate with the Department of Cooperation Haryana and HAFED.

The workshop was attended by leading National/State level industries associations and over 150 food processors of the state. The inaugural session of the Workshop witnessed several senior dignitaries who shared their views and vision for providing direction to growth of food processing sector in the State by creating an industry friendly environment.

HAFED also set up a Kiosk for information dissemination and to have B2B interactions with the potential investors. The workshop largely succeeded in meeting its objective and the participants seemed quite enthusiastic about the Mega Food Parks.
