Answer THE MINISTER FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES (SHRI SUBODH KANT SAHAI) (a) & (e): A statement is laid on the Table of the House STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) TO (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.374 FOR ANSWER ON 19-08-2010 REGARDING SETTING UP OF FOOD PARKS (a): During the operation of 8th to 10th Plan periods, a total of 56 Food Parks were approved in different parts of the country. A list of 56 Food Parks approved by the Government is placed at Annexure-I. (b): The Infrastructure Development Scheme for Food Parks being operated during 8th to 10th Plan period has since been discontinued. In the 11th Five Year Plan, a revamped scheme of Mega Food Park has been approved. Under the new scheme, Government has approved setting up of 10 Mega Food Parks in the 1st phase out 30 Mega Food Parks envisaged during the 11th plan period. -

North East Food Show Concludes with Chief Ministers' Conclave
PRESS RELEASE CM/PR/2019/51 North East Food Show concludes with Chief Ministers’ Conclave Shillong, 6th Dec 19: The three days’ North East Food Show 2019 concluded here with the Chief Ministers’ Conclave which was chaired by Chief Minister, Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma and was attended by members, Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister, Tripura, Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, B S Pant, Minister, Tourism, Civil Aviation, Commerce & Industry, Sikkim and Special Guests, Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State, Youth Affairs & Sports and Rameshwar Teli, Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing. In his remarks, Chief Minister, Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma said that the first edition of the North East Food Show witnessed 250 exhibitors, B2B discussions and training programmes. He also informed that different hotels have expressed interest to procure vegan meat like jackfruit. He said that the response for homemade and fruit made wine has been great and the government is looking at coming up with a policy to regulate wine making so that both the farmers and entrepreneurs can benefit. He also announced that the North East Food Show will be an annual calendar event and the second edition of the North East Food Show would be held on the 26th, 27th and 28th Nov 2020 taking the food sector and all stakeholders in the food industry to new heights. Minister of State, Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rijiju in his speech said that food is crucial to human civilization and the identity of the people is associated with the food of the place. He added that the food of the North East is known to be healthy and organic and that within the North East the food business is huge providing attractive career options on a sustainable basis. -

(NEMFPL) under Mega Food Park Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India is established with the objective of providing adequate infrastructure for the food processing industry along with the value chain from the farm to the market. It is located at Nathkuchi, Nalbari district. Although predominantly agrarian, industrial units are gradually being established in the district. Area of the project Total Land: 50.023 Acres (151.25 Bighas); Total Allocable Area 27.61 Acres Acres; Area Already Allotted 0.6832 Acres; Balance Allocable Area 26.931 Acres Infrastructure Facilities Available Approach road is approx. 1.0 km from NH 31. Standard Design Factory (SDF) for small and medium enterprise (SME), developed industrial plots, cold storage of 1500 MT, Common Effluent Treatment Plant, Quality Control Labs etc., Common administrative building for office and other uses.
