Elderly patients who need to take multiple medications will find it easier to identify and track their medication use with a new automated medication packing system.
The system is called ConviDose and is part of a pilot programme started in May 2010.
It is currently being used by some 3 thousand news videos patients in 14 nursing homes and four long stay wards in the Institute of Mental Health.
The National Healthcare Group which came up with ConviDose, aims for it to help nursing homes free up manpower, save on storage space and improve medication safety.
