ABSTRACT DRAFT SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT RAYMONDVILLE DRAIN PROJECT PROJECT FOR FLOOD CONTROL FROM NEAR EDINBURG LAKE IN HIDALGO COUNTY TO LAGUNA MADRE IN WILLACY COUNTY, TEXAS The responsible lead agency is the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District. The local sponsor is the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 (HCDD#1). Abstract: This Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) was prepared as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to present information regarding the potential impacts of proposed improvements to the Raymondville Drain. The proposed project extends from Edinburg Lake in Hidalgo County to east of La Sal Vieja Lake in Willacy County, Texas. Refer to Appendix A for a copy of the Alternative Exhibits and Photographs. The purpose and need for the project is to improve the drainage systems in order to provide increased flood protection and additional drainage capacity for Hidalgo and Willacy County. Several alternatives for the improvement of the Raymondville Drain were evaluated from Edinburg Lake to east of La Sal Vieja Lake. The DSEIS addresses the direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts of the recommended plan on human and environmental issues, including the following: water and sediment quality; waters of the United States, including wetlands; land use; habitat types; aquatic communities; wildlife resources; cultural resources; air quality; noise; hazardous, toxic, and radioactive wastes; socioeconomic issues; flooding; bank erosion; and prime farmlands.

ZooKeys 593: 117–137. doi: 10.3897/zookeys.593.8484 Abstract We compiled a checklist of the amphibians and reptiles of the state of Coahuila, Mexico. The list com- prises 133 species (24 amphibians, 109 reptiles), representing 27 families (9 amphibians, 18 reptiles) and 65 genera (16 amphibians, 49 reptiles). Coahuila has a high richness of lizards in the genus Sceloporus. Coahuila has relatively few state endemics, but has several regional endemics. Overlap in the herpetofauna of Coahuila and bordering states is fairly extensive. Of the 132 species of native amphibians and reptiles, eight are listed as Vulnerable, six as Near Threatened, and six as Endangered in the IUCN Red List. In the SEMARNAT listing, 19 species are Subject to Special Protection, 26 are Threatened, and three are in Danger of Extinction.

Site D-5 (= Texas FM 2644 West), about 31 km (straight line distance) east of the Rio Grande in chronically disturbed habitat bordering Texas FM Hwy 2644, is the most distant point from the river known for this hybrid-derived diploid parthenogenetic lizard. It is also the only site in the range of clonal complex B, which includes certain border areas of Texas and the Mexican states Coahuila and Tamaulipas, where large numbers of A. laredoensis B have been observed in syntopy with substantial numbers of its gonochoristic progenitors, A. gularis (Texas Spotted Whiptail) and A. sexlineata (Six-lined Racerunner). Aspidoscelis gularis is the only whiptail species present at all of the other five sites in Dimmit County featured herein, with no other congener at D-1 (= Carrizo Springs) and D-2 (= Valley Wells), with A. laredoensis clonal complex A at D-3 (= Catarina), and with A.
