CIP zapis dostupan u računalnom katalogu Gradske i sveučilišne knjižnice Osijek pod brojem 130927044 Foreword The collection of papers ‘Aspects of local and regional development’ is the result of a successful cooperation between the Faculty of Law at the University of Osijek and the Faculty of Law, University of Pécs within the project DUNICOP (Deepening UNIversity Cooperation Osijek-Pécs) approved as part of the IPA cross-border cooperation Croatia-Hungary. The collection presents the research results of Croatian and Hungarian PhD students who are trying to create a common research space, which was one of the main project goals. The scientifi c results were presented at an international interdisciplinary conference which was held on the 4th and 5th of October at the Faculty of Law in Osijek. With its content the collection encompasses a wide range of current topics from the regional development and environment protection fi elds and the number and quality of doctoral theses are worth attention and are of crucial importance for the development of the European Higher Education Area. With the Lisbon Declaration the European Union has set the goal of becoming the most competitive and dynamic economy based on knowledge. The promotion of a society of knowledge which strives to learn is only worth as much as that knowledge and learning is aimed at the critical observation of existing circumstances and the recognition of what is to come. Everything that was achieved is treated as potentially out of date. That is the reason why the search for improvement always continues and achieves results. It is why knowledge has to be ever more comprehensive, complex, complete and encouraging for the critical examination of the existing reality and the introduction of those components that will enrich a better future. An international cooperation of this kind can help PhD students to acquire knowledge and competence by conducting scientifi c research but also this kind of cross-border cooperation can prepare doctoral students for the new challenges of society and the economy, and the new challenges in the development of their scientifi c or professional career. 5 The achieved results, including this collection of papers, are encouraging and represent an excellent basis for our European path of promoting and confi rming future scientifi c undertakings. Strossmayer University of Osijek with the Faculty of Law, University of Pécs and held in Osijek on the 4-5 October 2013. The Conference is one of the events of the DUNICOP project (Deepening UNIversity Co- operation Osijek - Pécs project; HUHR/1101/2.2.1/005). DUNICOP is a one-year long common research and curriculum development project be- tween the Universities of Pécs and Osijek in the fi eld of law. The project is co-fi nanced and supported by the European Union through the Hungary- Croatia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Program and by the two partici- pating law faculties. The DUNICOP project is operated in various inter- related areas and through various activities and is regarded as a successful continuation of previous EUNICOP and SUNICOP projects. Among the activities one can fi nd joint regional research, focusing on the fi eld of re- gional development and environmental protection, enhancing cooperative teaching activity and curriculum development, exchanging good practices in tendering and project management as well as quality assurance, and promotion of joint results. The conference ‘Aspects of local and regional development’ is a new ac- tivity of the co-operation between the faculties and it offers for the fi rst time a possibility for doctoral students to share their own individual re- search results and participate in an international conference. To attract the widest possible audience who can benefi t from the research results, the conference papers are collected and published in an edited volume. The Faculty of Law, J.J.     Tema knjige je relevantna i korisna kao temelj za nova istraživanja Baranje iz južne Hrvata priče Usmene u područjima različitih znanstvenih disciplina (folkloristika, dijalek- tologija, sociologija, kulturna antropologija) i posebno važna za lokalnu zajednicu i baranjsku regiju. Stober Proučavanje rasporeda društvenih djelatnosti u Baranji - prilog prostornom planiranju ISSN 1330-3651 UDC/UDK 711.52 : 316.334.55 (497.5-3 Baranja) A CONTRIBUTION TO SETTLEMENT NETWORK ANALYSIS IN BARANYA – A PROJECTION OF SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL Sanja Lončar-Vicković, Dina Stober Preliminary notes In this paper an effort was made to define the actual state of the distribution of social activities in the Croatian part of Baranja in regard to the social functions' development trends and current demo-geographic occurrences. First part of the text studies the relationship between the distribution of social activities and settlements' (administrative units) net in Baranja based on the idea of spatial reflections of legislative settings. The research includes ranking settlements according to their population and according to the provision of social activities, resulting in the density of social activities. The differentiation of ranks following the listed criteria detected problem spots in Baranja's space. In the second part of the text a basis for social activities' growth potential was researched based on natural and structural population migration. Using graphic and tabular descriptions of the administrative units' hierarchy one can transparently distinguish Baranja's two urban focal points (Osijek and Beli Manastir). Results of the research described in the paper present a strong argument for further scientific analysis of the settlement network in Croatian parts of Baranja with the aim of differentiating their specific potential and evaluation of urban and rural "locuses".     ELABORAT O TEMATSKOJ KULTURNOJ RUTI Projekt „CULTROUTE“ IPA HUHR/1101/1.2.3/0021 Izradio: „Poduzetnički centar Beli Manastir“ d.o.o. Siječanj, 2016. Elaborat o tematskoj kulturnoj ruti Projekt: „Cultroute“ OPĆINA PETLOVAC Geografski i geoprometni položaj Općina Petlovac smještena je na krajnjem sjeveroistočnom dijelu Republike Hrvatske i dio je Osječko-baranjske županije te prirodno-geografske cjeline Baranje koja se nalazi u trokutu između rijeka Drave, Dunava i državne granice prema Republici Mađarskoj. Cijelim svojim teritorijem pripada središnjem sjevernom dijelu prostora Osječko-baranjske županije te sjeverozapadnom geografskom dijelu Baranje. Područje općine Petlovac nalazi se u okruženju Grada Belog Manastira, na sjeveroistoku, općine Jagodnjak na jugoistoku, Grada Valpova na jugu, Grada Belišća na jugozapadu i zapadu, dok se sjeverni dio Općine nalazi uz državnu granicu prema Republici Mađarskoj. Takav geoprometni položaj predstavlja svojevrsno ograničenje u sustavu prometnog povezivanja te njegovu razvoju. Cestovni promet je jedina grana prometa kojim Općina ostvaruje veze s užim i širim okruženjem i to putem trasa dviju državnih ceste: D517 i D211. Most preko rijeke Drave kod Belišća značajno utječe na kvalitetu prometne prohodnosti prostora, a izgradnjom buduće autoceste u koridoru Vc prostor Općine dobit će pristup na prometnu mrežu europskih autocesta. Elaborat o tematskoj kulturnoj ruti Projekt: „Cultroute“ Površina, stanovništvo, naseljenost Površina općine Petlovac iznosi 9.384 ha ili 93,84 km² pri čemu udio Općine u površini Županije iznosi 2,2%. Na području općine Petlovac, prema popisu stanovništva 2011. godine živjelo je ukupno 2.405 stanovnika. Tablica br. 1.
