Membership with the National Show Horse Registry is required to register horses and exhibit horses in NSH and Show Horse Alliance Classes. When registering a horse, the recorded owner must be a member. If horses are registered in the name of a farm or corporation, it is recommended that you apply for membership in the name of the farm or corporation. If a horse is owned by one or more people, only one need apply for membership. Riders, drivers, handlers, trainers and at least one owner must be members to show in NSH and Show Horse Alliance Classes. On the Local and District level only, riders, drivers, handlers and trainers can do a NSHR Non-Member fee of $30 per show, but at least one owner must have a regular membership to the NSHR to show in NSH and Show Horse Alliance classes. Transfer fees for non-members is $100. Transfer fees for members is $50. Only members 18 & over are eligible to vote on any matter put before the membership. The membership period is October 1st through September 30th (12 months). Membership applications received after July 1, 2019 will expire September 30, 2020. Memberships received from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 will expire September 30, 2021. Applications received without payment or incomplete will not be processed. To join the NSHR at a reduced fee, contact the National Show Horse club nearest you for details. Membership dues are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. Please Note: Due to the fact that we have to issue 1099 Forms at the end of the year for prize money won, prize money will not be issued if we do not have a Social Security Number for the owner or a Federal Tax ID Number for the farm or corporation on file.

In consideration of the undersigned being allowed to participate, observe, or otherwise attend in any way, any National Show Horse Registry activity, I agree to the following.

1. I understand dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions and the actions of others participating, observing, or attending any show or activity conducted by National ShowHorse Registry. I understand the nature of the National Show Horse Registry activities and acknowledge my experience and capabilities and believe I am qualified to participate in such activity. 2. I further acknowledge, that I am aware that the activity will be conducted in facilities open to the public during the activity. 3. I further agree and warrant that, if at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity and leave any premise upon which anyNational Show Horse Registry activity is performed upon. 4. I fully understand that: a) National Show Horse Registry activities involve risks and dangers of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis, and death; b) these risks inherent in the activity and risks associated with the negligence of the Releases named below; c) there may be other risks and social and economic losses either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and responsibility of losses, costs and damages incurred as a result of my participation in the activity or my observation of the activity. 5.
