Dagon University Research Journal 2011, Vol. 3 A Geographic Analysis on Distribution Pattern of Parks and Gardens in Yangon City Zaw Latt Tun* Abstract Recreation is an essential need for human beings. At present, due to the rapid advance in technology, a number of electronic devices for indoor recreation have widely been used in several places, especially in urban areas. However, outdoor recreation is also important for physical and mental relaxation for the sake of less expense of money as well as for healthy lifestyles. Moreover, it is the most appropriate type of recreation for all lifestyles, whether male or female, young or adult, rich or poor, single or married and so on. Therefore, this study attempts to highlight the existing distribution pattern of some outdoor recreation sites, particularly parks and gardens of Yangon City from geographical point of view. Introduction ‘Recreation’ means any activity done for pleasure in leisure time without expensing any money. The choice of recreation depends on individual interest, ability, one's income. This means that some hobbies e.g. golf, have a limited range of socio-economic classes involved. Personal choice is influenced by a range of factors including age and gender, education and interests, socio-economic group, occupation and status, family and stage in the life cycle, time available, distances involved transport available and facilities needed (Ganderton, 2000). At present due to the rapid advance of technology, a number of electronic devices for indoor recreation overwhelm in several places especially in urban areas. Modern recreation facilities may temporarily remove the mental stress caused by monotonous daily routine, transport difficulties, noise pollution etc., but these facilities may, in the end, cause both physical and mental defect, unless there is insufficient fresh air, green cover and open space for exercise.

初期環境影響評価報告書要約ミャンマーは電力不足や長時間にわたる停電が頻発しており、その結果として、電力に依存する同国の経済、市民の生活水準、その他における発展が阻害されている。電力省は電力不足を克服するため、海外の金融機関や開発パートナーと共に、新たな水力発電の発電源、送電線・変電所の新設、既存施設の更新、持続可能で再生可能なエネルギーの開発、その他利用可能なエネルギーについて検討し、発電、送電、配電の開発を加速させようとしている。 500kV の送電線及び変電所の建設はミャンマーの電力網設備の強化のために不可欠であり、ミャンマーの電力需要を満たすため重要な役割を果たす。プロジェクト概要 500kV 送電線の調査範囲はバゴー管区のパヤジー変電所からヤンゴン管区にあるラインタヤ変電所までである。送電線はバゴー管区にある 3 つの群区とヤンゴン管区にある 1 つの群区にまたがる。95km の送電線は 219 基の様々タイプの鉄塔により構成され、平均スパンは 450m （0.27 マイル）である。送電線の大部分はプランテーションや劣化した森林、下草の生えた土地や農地を通過する。プロジェクトは受送電を行う 4 つの変電所を建設する。変電所の建設地はメティラ、タングー、パヤジーそしてラインタヤが提案されている。プロジェクトエリアの自然環境変電所及び送電線のプロジェクトエリアは主に農地であり、所々熱帯雨林も含まれる。バゴー川及びライン川が水生生物の主な生息地である。すでに開発はかなり進んでおり、環境や景観への影響がある。地形は平地と丘が混在している。低木林は一般的な半常緑樹の再生林で確認された。プロジェクトエリアの開発はかなり進んでおり、生物多様性は低く、生息環境は悪化している。アジアゾウやビルマメダマガメのような絶滅の危機に瀕した種がこの地域に生息する可能性はある、頻繁ではない。 Moeyungyi 湿地野生生物保護区はパヤジー変電所から約 10.7km のところにある。 Kyetthauk 野生生物保護区はバゴー管区内バゴーヨマ丘陵の下に位置するタングー変電所から南西に 3.2km の所にあるが、ミャンマーでは保護区としては正式に登録されていない。ヤンゴン管区にある Hlawga 野生生物公園は、至近の送電線から 7.5km 東のところに位置し、保護区のリストには野生動物公園として登録されいる。プロジェクトの性質及び距離から、保護区への影響与えないと考えられる。ヤンゴン及びバゴー管区は熱帯モンスーン気候である。5 月から 10 月までの長い雨季に年間の降雨量の大部分が降る。11 月から 4 月までの乾季はほとんど雨の降らない。ヤンゴンにある気象水文局によるとバゴー管区周辺の平均気温は 26.9 °C そして平均降雨量は 3260 mm （128 インチ）である。ヤンゴン管区周辺の平均気温は 27.4 °C そして平均降雨量は 2787 mm （109 インチ）である。メティラ郡区は中央ミャンマーの乾燥地域に位置しており、熱帯の乾燥した気候である。4 月が最も暑く平均気温が 31.1 ˚C、12 月が最も寒く平均気温が 21.4˚C である。メティラ郡区の年間の降雨量は 809 mm （32 インチ）である。メティラ、タングーの地質は中新世から漸新世にかけて形成された上部ペグー層群及びイラワジ層の堆積物で構成されている。上部ペグー層は青灰色頁岩、黄色がかった茶色がかった砂岩や砂石灰岩で構成されている。イラワジ層は粘土と豊富な木材化石が特徴である。上部ペグー層群はイラワジ層に覆われている。プロジェクトエリアの社会環境

Myanmar sets General Senior Associate Election date for 8 November Singapore 2015 [email protected] Myanmar’s Union Election Commission (UEC) has made an official announcement that the much-anticipated general election is to take place this year on 8 November 2015. The election will see more than 1100 seats in national and regional parliaments contested across the country, and is largely regarded as the country’s first credible nationwide election in 25 years. The military, which had ruled the country since 1964, scheduled the last general election in 2010 under circumstances which were widely viewed as favouring the military-backed Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP). The opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) boycotted the 2010 election on account of what it perceived to be unjust electoral laws, and this will therefore be the first nationwide poll to put the NLD against the USDP. 2. Constitutional Amendment Bill - Update The military has blocked certain amendments to the Constitution, following the tabling of two Constitutional Amendment Bill in parliament on 10 June 2015. In particular, the military used their 25% bloc in parliament to vote against amending sections 436(a) and (b) which currently require 75% of lawmakers’ votes in favour to approve constitutional reform. The proposed amendment would have reduced the 75% threshold to 70%, thereby curbing the Page 1 of 3 military’s power.

In social sectors, it is seen that progress of education and health status are the main factors for the quality of human resources development. In education sector, the number of schools has been increased in all levels but the quantity of teacher should be appointed in middle schools and high schools levels for increased teacher-student ratio. In health sector, more doctors and health care workers should be provided.
