Here, the international remedies such as "Jointed Implementation (JI)” and “Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)" are determined to flexibly trade the amount of the countries’ reduction through actual implementation of projects. Japan should also utilize these means to achieve our target. This report summarizes the survey for a project of energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction by introducing modern refinery facilities to Thanlyin Refinery, Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise and for future CDM.     10: Islamic education in Myanmar: a case study Mohammed Mohiyuddin Mohammed Sulaiman Introduction `Islam', which literally means `peace' in Arabic, has been transformed into a faith interpreted loosely by one group and understood conservatively by another, making it seem as if Islam itself is not well comprehended by its followers. Today, it is the faith of 1.2 billion people across the world; Asia is a home for 60 per cent of these adherents, with Muslims forming an absolute majority in 11 countries (Selth 2003:5). Since the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, international scholars have become increasingly interested in Islam and in Muslims in South-East Asia, where more than 230 million Muslims live (Mutalib 2005:50). These South-East Asian Muslims originally received Islam from Arab traders. History reveals the Arabs as sea-loving people who voyaged around the Indian Ocean (IIAS 2005), including to South-East Asia. The arrival of Arabs has had different degrees of impact on different communities in the region. We find, however, that not much research has been done by today's Arabs on the Arab±South-East Asian connection, as they consider South-East Asia a part of the wider `East', which includes Iran, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Indeed, the term `South-East Asia' is hardly used in modern Arab literature. For them, anything east of the Middle East and non-Arabic speaking world is considered to be `Asia' (Abaza 2002). According to Myanmar and non-Myanmar sources, Islam reached the shores of Myanmar's Arakan (Rakhine State) as early as 712 AD, via oceangoing merchants, and in the form of Sufism.

    Atula Hsayadaw Shin Yasa: a Critical Biography of an Eighteenth‐Century Burmese Monk (version 1.1) April 02, 2012 Alexey Kirichenko One of the few relatively well-known episodes in the eighteenth-century history of monastic Buddhism in Burma is the debate on how novices should be dressed when going outside of the monastery to collect alms food.1 Sometimes referred to as the ekaṃsika-pārupana or the “one shoulder” vs. the “two shoulder” controversy, the debate revolved around the issue of whether novices should wear their robes in the same fashion as the monks or whether they should be dressed in a specifically distinct manner. According to a number of influential Burmese sources, this issue caused a serious rift in the saṃgha, which lasted for almost a century and was remedied only through resolute actions of King Badon-min (Bodawpaya, 1782–1819). As a subject for debate and a cause for monastic reform, the “one shoulder” vs. the “two shoulder” controversy seems a typical case for Theravādin monasticism. The tendency of Theravāda monks to emphasize seemingly minor issues of discipline or ritual practice over the matters of doctrine is long noted in the literature.2 Such matters as the manner of wearing the robe or carrying the alms bowl, the acceptability of wearing footwear (in general or in specific contexts), the propriety of certain types of monastic fans, the permissibility of smoking after noon, the rules for intoning Pāli ceremonial and ritual formulas, calendrical practices, etc., engaged the best minds in the saṃgha for decades. The debates on such issues were usually fueled by inter-monastic competition and provided rallying points for different networks or groupings of monks as well as the justification for dissent in the eyes of lay patrons.

At present, due to the rapid advance in technology, a number of electronic devices for indoor recreation have widely been used in several places, especially in urban areas. However, outdoor recreation is also important for physical and mental relaxation for the sake of less expense of money as well as for healthy lifestyles. Moreover, it is the most appropriate type of recreation for all lifestyles, whether male or female, young or adult, rich or poor, single or married and so on. Therefore, this study attempts to highlight the existing distribution pattern of some outdoor recreation sites, particularly parks and gardens of Yangon City from geographical point of view. Introduction ‘Recreation’ means any activity done for pleasure in leisure time without expensing any money. The choice of recreation depends on individual interest, ability, one's income. This means that some hobbies e.g. golf, have a limited range of socio-economic classes involved. Personal choice is influenced by a range of factors including age and gender, education and interests, socio-economic group, occupation and status, family and stage in the life cycle, time available, distances involved transport available and facilities needed (Ganderton, 2000). At present due to the rapid advance of technology, a number of electronic devices for indoor recreation overwhelm in several places especially in urban areas. Modern recreation facilities may temporarily remove the mental stress caused by monotonous daily routine, transport difficulties, noise pollution etc., but these facilities may, in the end, cause both physical and mental defect, unless there is insufficient fresh air, green cover and open space for exercise.

    初期環境影響評価報告書 要約 ミャンマーは電力不足や長時間にわたる停電が頻発しており、その結果として、 電力に依存する同国の経済、市民の生活水準、その他における発展が阻害されて いる。 電力省は電力不足を克服するため、海外の金融機関や開発パートナーと共に、新 たな水力発電の発電源、送電線・変電所の新設、既存施設の更新、持続可能で再 生可能なエネルギーの開発、その他利用可能なエネルギーについて検討し、発電、 送電、配電の開発を加速させようとしている。 500kV の送電線及び変電所の建設はミャンマーの電力網設備の強化のために不可 欠であり、ミャンマーの電力需要を満たすため重要な役割を果たす。 プロジェクト概要 500kV 送電線の調査範囲はバゴー管区のパヤジー変電所からヤンゴン管区にある ラインタヤ変電所までである。送電線はバゴー管区にある 3 つの群区とヤンゴン管 区にある 1 つの群区にまたがる。95km の送電線は 219 基の様々タイプの鉄塔によ り構成され、平均スパンは 450m （0.27 マイル）である。送電線の大部分はプラン テーションや劣化した森林、下草の生えた土地や農地を通過する。 プロジェクトは受送電を行う 4 つの変電所を建設する。変電所の建設地はメティ ラ、タングー、パヤジーそしてラインタヤが提案されている。 プロジェクトエリアの自然環境 変電所及び送電線のプロジェクトエリアは主に農地であり、所々熱帯雨林も含ま れる。バゴー川及びライン川が水生生物の主な生息地である。 すでに開発はかなり進んでおり、環境や景観への影響がある。地形は平地と丘が 混在している。低木林は一般的な半常緑樹の再生林で確認された。プロジェクト エリアの開発はかなり進んでおり、生物多様性は低く、生息環境は悪化している。 アジアゾウやビルマメダマガメのような絶滅の危機に瀕した種がこの地域に生息 する可能性はある、頻繁ではない。 Moeyungyi 湿地野生生物保護区はパヤジー変電所から約 10.7km のところにある。 Kyetthauk 野生生物保護区はバゴー管区内バゴーヨマ丘陵の下に位置するタング ー変電所から南西に 3.2km の所にあるが、ミャンマーでは保護区としては正式に 登録されていない。ヤンゴン管区にある Hlawga 野生生物公園は、至近の送電線か ら 7.5km 東のところに位置し、保護区のリストには野生動物公園として登録され いる。プロジェクトの性質及び距離から、保護区への影響与えないと考えられる。 ヤンゴン及びバゴー管区は熱帯モンスーン気候である。5 月から 10 月までの長い 雨季に年間の降雨量の大部分が降る。11 月から 4 月までの乾季はほとんど雨の降 らない。ヤンゴンにある気象水文局によるとバゴー管区周辺の平均気温は 26.9 °C そして平均降雨量は 3260 mm （128 インチ）である。ヤンゴン管区周辺の平均気 温は 27.4 °C そして平均降雨量は 2787 mm （109 インチ）である。 メティラ郡区は中央ミャンマーの乾燥地域に位置しており、熱帯の乾燥した気候 である。4 月が最も暑く平均気温が 31.1 ˚C、12 月が最も寒く平均気温が 21.4˚C である。メティラ郡区の年間の降雨量は 809 mm （32 インチ）である。 メティラ、タングーの地質は中新世から漸新世にかけて形成された上部ペグー層 群及びイラワジ層の堆積物で構成されている。 上部ペグー層は青灰色頁岩、黄色がかった茶色がかった砂岩や砂石灰岩で構成さ れている。イラワジ層は粘土と豊富な木材化石が特徴である。上部ペグー層群は イラワジ層に覆われている。 プロジェクトエリアの社会環境
