Bureau of Labor Statistics:

 Employment of political scientists is expected to grow 8 percent from 2010 to 2020.  Employment of is expected to grow by 10 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations.  Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is expected to grow by 18 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations.  Employment of probation officers and correctional treatment specialists is expected to grow by 18 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as average for all occupations.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of urban and regional planners is expected to grow 16 percent from 2010 to 2020. Political scientists need a master’s degree or Ph.D. in political science, public administration, or a related field.  Most planners work for state and federal government, real developers, nonprofits, and planning consulting firms. Planners work throughout the country in all sizes of municipality, but most work in large metropolitan areas.

Georgia Department of Labor:

 The Georgia Department of Labor project a 14% increase of lawyers in Georgia from 2008 to 2018.  The Georgia Department of Labor projects a 7% increase of urban and regional planners in Georgia from 2008 to 2018.  Planners also will be important as new communities will require extensive development and infrastructure, including housing, roads, sewer systems, schools.  Social and Community Service Managers in Georgia are expected to increase 40.8% between 2008 and 2018 (Georgia Department of Labor).  According to the Georgia Department of Labor, Budget Analysts are projected to grow 4.1% between 2008-2018.
