    Welsh Government – COVID-19 Economic Resilience Fund The COVID-19 Economic Resilience Fund (Phase 1) provided financial assistance for eligible businesses and organisations who faced operational and financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The purpose of these Funds were to support businesses and organisations with immediate cash flow support to help them through the economic consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak. It has been re-written, and put in a more readable form for schools and the general public. The book deals with the county in districts chiefly districts lying within the several river basins with further chapters dealing with general geographical and historical facts. All the more important towns and industrial centres have special chapters devoted to them. The best books on Glamorgan have been consulted, and every care has been taken to ensure accuracy both in the information given and the maps and plans that illustrate the text. The writer here desires to acknowledge his great indebtedness to the works of previous writers on the subject. Thanks are also due for photographs lent by the Great Western and Messrs.     The Worm’s Head Hotel in Rhossili was a very fitting setting for Kathy Ace to tell us how she got into writing and the journey she has been on developing the characters she uses in her various series. It was delightful on a lovely summer’s day, to sit eating scones and drinking tea looking at the Worm! Today’s venues might not be quite so picturesque, but will be equally as enthralling! Firstly there is Gowerton School at 1pm for the Children’s Concert and then we are back in Newton this evening to hear the wonderful pianist Llŷr Williams perform, but please allow plenty of time to get to the concerts as due to the Swansea Airshow this weekend, which includes a display on Saturday evening which won’t finish until after 10.30 pm; many of the roads around the bay will be closed from midday Friday to early Monday morning. This means that there will be no direct access along Mumbles Road. There will be diversions in place, but from my own experience last year, with everyone using the same diversion, traffic jams are inevitable. This means your journeys will take a lot longer so please leave plenty of time to get to any concerts over the weekend. (for further details please see the official Swansea City Council Wales Airshow website where there is free access to all the roads closed and traffic management details. Go to www.swansea.gov.uk . enter the keyword ‘airshow’ and you will see ‘wales airshow’ click on that and then scroll down to ‘Airshow FAQs including …….road closures’ click ‘road closures’ and the information should come up.) There are still tickets for the children’s concert available on the door, whilst the concert at Newton is another sell-out, but there may be one or two returns on the door.

    Environmental Events Digwyddiadau Amgylcheddol Swansea 2009 Abertawe Introduction This 2009 Environmental Events leaflet lists details of over 300 events taking place in and around Swansea from March to December. These include guided walks and cycle rides through some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, and many talks and workshops/training courses where you can learn about environmental issues and wildlife. There are also lots of children’s activities in local parks, on beaches or in other interesting places. Many of these events are FREE or at very low cost so everyone can get involved. Following the success of Earth from the Air in 2007, Swansea Environmental Forum is bringing another open-air exhibition of amazing and inspiring photographs to Swansea. The Hard Rain exhibition has toured much of the UK and many other countries across the world but this year we will see its first visit to Wales when it comes to Swansea in June. Look out for the programme of linked activities and events taking place throughout the summer. The number of events and organisations arranging them continues to increase so it isn’t possible to include everything in this leaflet. Please note that details of regular local produce markets have been collated on p.5. Blwyddyn / Year Adroddiad Blynyddol / Annual Report 1966-67 Disgrifiad / Description Journal of the testator's father, Rev William Rees (1839-1919), Independent minister at Llechryd, co. Cardigan, who, with part of his congregation, had been locked out of the Old Chapel on 26 February 1880 (NLW MS 12863F). Two obvious reasons for this dispute were the minister's uncompromising views on temperance and his adherence to the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg. The journal commences on 2 March 1880 and the last entry was made some time after Christmas 1917. The contents of this volume may be broadly divided into three sections: the author's career and the history of the new Tabernacle at Llechryd, 1880-1903 and 1911-[?1918] (pp. 1-228 and 457-94), a section which began with his wife's death, and contains, in addition to material such as that found in the first section, a considerable volume of verse, 1904-10 (pp. 229-436); and a brief sketch of his life (pp. 437- 57).     The Welsh Labour Party and Devolution, 1966-1999: Disunity in Diversity Andrew Lincoln (Université européenne de Bretagne) Résumé : The Labour Party in Wales played a determining but contradictory role in the long and complex process which led from the creation of the Welsh Office in 1964 to the transfer of executive powers to the National Assembly for Wales on July 1 st 1999. In the 1960s and 1970s, for example, elements within the Welsh Council of Labour pressed hard for legislative devolution for Wales but the campaign orchestrated by some South Wales Labour MPs , the Gang of Six, made a decisive contribution to the failure of the 1979 referenda on devolution in both Wales and Scotland. Similarly, in the 1990s, even if Labour finally delivered executive devolution, the divisions within the party led it to try and make the devolution debate in Wales an internal party affair. This nearly resulted in a second defeat in the September 1997 referendum. My paper will start by briefly sketching out this contradictory role and its impact at some of the key stages of the devolution process. It will then analyse the reasons for the existence of different positions on devolution within Welsh Labour and the factors which changed the internal balance of forces over time. Introduction All big national political parties in the major western democracies are complex structures. This is particularly true of the British Labour Party because of its large number of affiliated organisations. In most circumstances, this does not prevent the formulation of valid generalisations about the party’s general positions and political role, for the very adversarial, two-party style of much of British politics tends to make it a tightly leadership-led organisation with policy orientations firmly enforced throughout the party.
