TV series Dark Soul, directed by Sophie Deraspe and created by Annabelle Poisson and Patrick Lowe, will be introduced by the creators as part of the Hot Properties strand. The fiction tries to understand the motives of Jeremy Tremblay, who walked into his high school with a semi-automatic rifle and shot multiple students before killing himself. Sophie Deraspe is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer. The Amina Profile (2015) was selected as a World Cinema documentary at Sundance and won the Special Jury Prize at Hot Docs. Annabelle Poisson has been writing screenplays since 2006 for teenagers and adults; Dark Soul is her first original work. Patrick Lowe has been writing for television since 2002 on successful shows such as Mémoires Vives. Additionally, sixteen Québec production companies will be taking part in Content London On Demand, thanks to the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC). In line with this mandate, the SODEC continues to support a strong documentary industry in Québec and has partnered with the Forum RIDM (Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal) to build a delegation of dynamic producers that will take part in this year’s SODEC_Lab @ CPH:DOX. CPH:DOX, the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, is one of the biggest documentary film festivals in the world.
