Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Some of the rivers that the origin is located at Mt. Merapi have a large amount of sediment resources after eruption in October-November 2010. The total volume of sediment is estimated at 130 million m3.The deposited sediment flows to the downstream area as a debris or bed load transport in high density. Few studies considered downstream change along volcanic rivers due to a high density of bed load transport. Using numerical simulation, the impact of high concentration of bed-load transport is applied in Progo River, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The results show that the high bed-load transport rate increases the mid-channel bar grow rate and the bed degradation near the bank toe. The increase of bed degradation is an important parameter of bank erosion process. Furthermore, the bed morphology on the downstream after 2010 eruption of Mt. Green catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is a popular freshwater fish that highly exploited in almost all the rivers in Java Island. The exploited population tends to have low genetic diversity. Meanwhile, separated populations might lead to a genetic difference among the river populations. This study aims to investigate the genetic diversity and population variation of H. nemurus collected at eleven rivers across Java Island. The analysis based on 465 bp fragment of the cytochrome c oxidase 1 gene from 140 individuals. Analysis of overall populations proved that H. nemurus had a high gene diversity (h= 0.935±0.016) and nucleotide diversity (π = 0.073±0.036). Within population analysis also showed that H. nemurus populations showed high levels of gene diversity (h= 0.338±0.128 to 1.000±0.022) and nucleotide diversity (π =0.001±0.001 to 0.071±0.038).

They know about the temple, but not its past environment when the temple was built. The history and past environment of Borobudur temple could be developed as additional tourist attractions to make them stay longer in that area. Geological condition and the evidences of an ancient lake could be developed as tourist objects. It is very interesting and could be developed to educate visitors in geo-archeology. The aim of this research is to develop archeological (temple) tourism based on geology and past environment. Although many researches on geo-archeology have been done, the results which relate to tourism are still not widely applied yet.

A huge amount of losses such as damage of infrastructures, housing, and agricultural area occurs every year. This research mainly aims to develop flood hazard map and study the characteristics of flood in the study area. There are two main analysis; hydrologic and hydraulic, to model a flood event. Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of flood based on 20 and 50- years return period hydrograph along the river geometry is done using the latest HEC program namely HEC- HMS 4.1 and HEC- RAS 5.0. Also, ArcGIS 10.3 is used as a terrain pre-processor and post-processor for hazard mapping. The results of this research are flood hazard maps for 20 and 50 years flood and its comparison to the recent major flood events. Flood inundation modelled covered an area of 993.77 Ha and 1,175.86 Ha, with maximum discharge calculated at Boro Weir as starting point are 1206.2 m3/s and 1,397.3 m3/s for 20 and 50 years flood case, respectively.

This river had flooded almost every year, causing significant damage in the Aceh Besar Regency Region (with population of 1.65 million in 1980), including Banda Aceh Municipal. Typically, the flooding covered an area of 25,000 ha, comprising 2,700 ha of residential area, 7,500 ha of paddy field and 4,100 ha of coconut plantations and shepherding meadows. This situation was caused by a limited river capacity of 250 m3/s, compared to the 5-year flood discharge of 1,300 m3/s.
