y The "Fora sobre la Paleoecolooia, Ecolooia Geoorafia Fisica del Noroeste del Estado de Chihuahua" will be held between Firday 28 and Sunday 30 of April, 1989 in Nuevos Casas Grandes. Chihuahua. The Forum will be an informal meetino of researchers interested in the various aspects of the oeooraphy and ecolooy of northwestern Chihuahua. The ooals are to assess the present state of knowledoe and provide the opportunity for personal interaction between people with parrallel topical interests and similar oeooraphical interests.

The themes that have been suogested are water and climate: avian ecolooY: small mammal ecolooy: plant ecology and prehispanic aoricultural systems.

Since the invitation is beino sent to foreign [US, Canadian. French and British] as well as Mexican scholars. we expect a stimulatino turn out.

While it is hoped that we will be out and about as much as possible. owing to the oenerousity of Julian Hernandez. we will be able to use the class rooms of the Federal Preparatoria "Francisco Villa" for any formal sessions.

Since there are no funds for nothing. every participant will be responsible for their own expenses. If there are any oroup expenses. everybody will be asked to assist the kitty.

If YOU wish to camp there are a couple of safe places, near by. If you wish to stay in a hotel I can recommend the Pinon [$40.000 sinole/$55.000 double]. altho the Hacienda [more expensive] is preferred bY most foreioners. There are cheaper hotels such as the Hotel Paquime [Juarez 305]. San Luis [Av. Constitucion 1002] and Hotel California [Av. Constitucion 207]. It i s unlikelY that there will be difficulty in finding rooms.
