She is a vital part of the Connaught's team and we are very happy we can call her 'our colleague'. Meet Norma Paris - New Director

Norma was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and educated at Dame Allan's Girls' School.

Norma holds a Master's degree from the London University Institute of education.

She was a director and shareholder of a group of magazines. They went into partnership with BBC Enterprises in the publication of the long established Wildlife magazine. That was purchased outright by the BBC in the mid 1980s and is still in existence as BBC Wildlife.

Latterly she became a director of an aviation company based at Oxford . Their fleet of 11 aircraft specialised in medical repatriation work, but also carried passengers and cargo throughout Europe and North Africa.

Since Norma and her husband moved full time to in 2008 she spent nearly 5 years as a States member, not seeking re-election in 2018 for personal reasons. She held the Chair of the Business development, Tourism and Marketing Committee and then the Chair of the General Services Committee during this period. As part of her role attending Alderney Liaison Group meetings she met both deputies and members of the Guernsey Civil Services.

Currently she is a director and shareholder of Hangar 2 Ltd. at Alderney airport and a director of the Alderney Bird Observatory Ltd.

We have asked Norma Paris why she became a director at The Connaught.

Her answer: "I have always admired the wonderful work that The Connaught do for our community and I very much look forward to being able to contribute to it."

Finally we are out the lockdown 2.0 and we can progress with staff training. Monday 29th March we have started 1st session of Fire Safety Training. Thank you Mark Gaudion for today. Only another 9 sessions to go!
