All the Design Pieces are stitched out using the method below:

Hoop a Double Layer of Water Soluble Vilene. Please ensure that the water soluble vilene is flat and smooth when it is hoop and is 'firm' in the hoop. There must be no folds or bubbles as this will affect the stitch out.

Stitch out the First Colour – this is an outline of the design piece.

Place a piece of fabric on top of this running stitch outline. Stitch out the second colour – this is again an outline of the design piece and will hold the fabric in place.

Remove the hoop from the machine. Replace your 'regular' embroidery needle with the wing needle. Replace the hoop in the machine and stitch out the third colour. This will be the broderie anglaise patterning. Remove the hoop from the machine. Remove the wing needle and replace with your regular embroidery needle. Using a sharp nosed pair of , carefully cut the surrounding fabric from around the design piece.

Replace the hoop in the machine and stitch out the next colour. This will be the edging around the design piece.

Stitch out the rest of the design.

Stitching out the Soles:

Hoop a double layer of water soluble vilene.

Stitch out the first colour – this is an outline of the sole.

Place a double layer of fabric on to of the outline. Stitch out the second colour – this is again an outline of the sole.

Using a sharp nosed pair of scissors, away the excess fabric from around the sole.

Stitch out the final colour – this is a stitch edging. Assembly:

You will need your regular sewing machine to assemble the shoettes. I used a zig zag stitch. Density approximately .5 and a width of 3 mm

Tape the sides to the sole and stitch into place:

Next, pin the Front to the sole and gently 'ease' while stitching into place: Pin the Back to the Sole and stitch into place. Gently and carefully use the 'quick unpick' to open the eyelet holes. Rinse out the shoettes. Allow to dry. Using the Bodkin thread the ribbon through the eyelet holes to complete.
