(Initiative) Project Brief Description: In July 2006. the Government has adopted a five-year 'Operational Programme Development industrial wood processing' . The number of employees in the sector would be increased from the current 11,000 to 15,000. Building productive capacity of existing cooperatives and small and medium enterprises, support the launch of new cooperative and the capacity building for cooperative development and support services to small and medium-sized businesses. Capacities Running Period: Start: 2006 End: 2010 Contacts: Croatian government, Račkoga 6, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia tel: (01) 6400- 660, fax: (01) 6400- 644 e- valerija.smolcic@mr rfeu.hr Aspects to be further inve stigated The initiative of the Government in Croatia with the five-year 'Operational Programme Development industrial wood processing' intends to improve the knowledge capacity of intermediate bodies and policy makers which support the SMEs in industrial wood processing through the introduction of restructuring tools for small and medium sized companies in the sector, to enhance the competiveness of SMEs in wood sector through their restructuring process and to attract private financing for SMEs for their restructuring process in the initiative region. 4 Public call for the allocation of subsidies to businesses in the year 2014. Project Brief Description: In order to develop small businesses, Sibenik-Knin County has created incentives for the following purposes: Marketing activities: exhibitions in the 2014th year, advertising material, market research, etc., Professional training and development: training for traditional crafts activities, vocational training staff in new technologie. Costs of establishing or cover part of the costs of registration and starting a new business.The program users can be crafts, a limited liability company to 250 employees production and service cooperatives, which are registered and operating in the territory of Sibenik- Knin's County and have no debt to the State.
