Houston has been awarded two NCAA Regional host bids (2015, 2017), while advancing to an NCAA Super Regional following a Regional Championship in Baton Rouge, La. in 2014.     Developer du jour: Food halls popping up across metro Atlanta March 16, 2018 Boosted by the success of Krog Street and Ponce City markets, new food halls are popping up across metro Atlanta. At least five projects are planned, stretching from Midtown Atlanta to Forsyth County, as developers seek to bring energy to their projects through these new food concepts that feature several restaurants and vendors around a central gathering space. “On every developer’s site plan where it used to show a grocery store, it now shows a food hall,” said George Banks, who runs retail consulting and development firm Revel with partner Kristi Rooks. Revel is about to break ground on “The Daily” in Alpharetta that will bundle six restaurants around a central courtyard at the former site of The Varsity. “It’s a high-energy, all-day, elevated dining restaurant cluster,” Banks said. “We are trying to provide a little bit of what we think Alpharetta as a city is missing.” Food courts, of course, have been mainstays in American malls for decades. But the food hall generally excludes fast-food chains and focuses on more elevated eats, mostly from local operators. “A curated food hall requires a lot of care and thought,” said Banks, who previously worked for Atlanta developer Paces Properties when it developed Krog Street Market. “Sometimes you have to say no to perfectly capable tenants who have money just because they don’t meet the vibe. It’s contradictory … But you can’t just cram a bunch of food and beverage operators in a box.

How many times have I been right? I think they are a very exciting team, a very young team. I think we have a real – we’ll see change since the end of last year, versus when Butchy [Bruce Cassidy] took over. I think it’s going to be a continuation and maybe an improvement on that. That’s what I’m looking forward to. Again, how many times have I been asked that? How many times have I been right? It’s another answer. Hope springs eternal as far as this guy is concerned. On Zdeno Chara… JJ: Zee [Zdeno Chara] has been a real killer here. His physicality and his endurance, the time he spends on the ice. He’s been a tremendous investment, but his personality and his character goes a long way to establish what this team is. I think he’s done a great job with it. And his captaincy is very much earned. BC (Bruce Cassidy): As far as a mentor on the ice, Brandon Carlo could best answer that. But clearly he has been paired with him and both Charlie McAvoy, two young guys. Because he accepts that role, he relishes it. He wants to work with younger guys, while still taking care of business on the ice.

    INTRODUCTION Sports have drawn people together to cheer for their heroes for as long as there has been a record of human activity. Sports have been seen to rival religion in the power to unify diverse populations, and in some cases have sparked positive social movements that carry over to the worlds of business and government. Sports are timeless, yet with each generation, new technology and social dynamics have changed and intensified how we experience sports. In the past fifty years, we have seen many radical changes — broadcast television and cable, credit cards, salary caps, player unions, integration, globalization of the fanbase, shared revenue agreements, and $100 million player contracts. The changes on the horizon will likely be even more disruptive. For this project, we assembled a brain trust of futurists and experts to gaze into the next 25 years. Some of the underlying trends are undeniable. Medical advances are allowing us to alter the bodies of athletes. The computing power of smartphones doubles every 18 months. The appetite for sports is nearly insatiable — fans expect all-access passes into the clubhouse and into the boardroom. Change is coming fast. But how these trends intersect, and what our industry will look like as a result, is far from obvious. Discussing the future of our industry can be anxiety-provoking, simply because so much seems uncertain. No one wants to bet on the wrong trend. This project serves to remind us that the future is inherently fun — fun to debate, to contemplate, and to imagine. Some of these futurists’ predictions will come true, and more of them likely won’t.

Only five Canadian players remain after Training Camp cuts. MEDIA DAY: The Boston Bruins will hold their annual Media Day on Monday, October 1, at Warrior Ice Arena beginning with the team’s 12:00 p.m. practice. Approximately 15 minutes after practice, the team will hold a press conference in the Event Room (concourse level 3) with Owner Jeremy Jacobs, CEO Charlie Jacobs, President Cam Neely, General Manager Don Sweeney and Head Coach Bruce Cassidy. After the press conference, Bruins players will be available to the media inside the locker room. A media luncheon will be held in the Event Room after the player availability. Answer: In Exhibit F, the FYE 18 and FYE 19 budgets identify costs regarding Facility Maintenance. Professional Services are also a part of FM costs. 2. What is the temporary staffing volume / percentage as it pertains to this RFP? Answer: No temporary staff is currently used for Facility Maintenance 3. Are you willing to explore any additional services to the partnership to support your current labor model (parking lot, new E&G space, Res Halls, etc)? Answer: No. This RFP is solely for Athletic Facilities. 4. Who do they use for temporary labor? Answer: Temporary labor is hired by the provider. 5. How much is your student labor spend? Answer: The provider currently only uses student labor for conversions and not for facility maintenance or custodial. 6. Within the campus strategic plan there are new buildings coming online.
