Do you remember our first Year 1 topic all the way back last September? It seems like such a long time ago! We discovered and learned lots of information about Dinosaurs. Some of you were already dinosaur experts and taught us new facts we didn’t already know. The Royal Mint (not polo mints) are the organisation that creates the money we use. Each coin or note you have in your money box will have been designed and made by the Royal Mint. You might be wondering what this has to do with dinosaurs… They have been working with the Natural History Museum in London to create 3 new coins with pictures of dinosaurs on them. These are very special because they are coloured and if you scan them with a special AR code scanner you can discover where and when the first fossil was discovered.
