BRIEF SUMMARY 1.0 SUMMARY M/s. Nithyasai Industries Limited is located at Sy. No: 66/1, 68/52,68/53, Konada Village of Pusapatirega Mandal in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The industry proposes to establish a new unit for processing crude coal tar and melting of pitch in the Vizianagaram District which involves distillation of crude coal tar and melting of Pitch . 2.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACK GROUND INFORMATION NITHYASAI INDUSTRIES LTD., is a Private Limited company which specializes in the manufacture of ‘Coal-Tar Pitch’ and other value added products from the distillation of ‘Crude Coal-Tar’. On assessing the potential demand for derivatives of Crude-Coal Tar and their wide range of applications in different industries, Nithya Sai Industries Ltd., was founded in the Year 2002-2003 by Mr. S.P.R.Raju along with his brother Mr. S.P.P.R.N.R.Varma. It has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. In a short span of time M/s Nithya Sai Industries Limited has become one of the largest suppliers of ‘Coal-tar Pitch’ to the Aluminum Industry in India. It started with a turnover of Rs.3 Crores in the Year 2003-2004 and achieved a turnover of Rs.55.57 Crores during the Year 2017-18. M/s. NITHYASAI INDUSTRIES LIMITED proposed to establish another new unit at Konada Village, Pusapatirega Mandal, Vizianagaram District to produce coal tar pitch. The plant located in land bearing survey no. 66/1, 68/52, 68/53. The industry accorded CFE vide order No. 9324-VZM/PCB/ZO-VSP/CFE/2015 Dt:22.07.2015 and received CFO for Coal tar pitch product vide order no.9324/APPCB/ZO-VSP/VZN/CFO/W&A/2015-636 Dt: 24.10.2018. Construction had started for only melting plant and for remaining products attracts Environmental Clerance under the section 4(b) (ii) Coal Tar processing units and we are processing for Environmental Clearance. .

Ph.255767 (O) HISTORY OF DLSA IN VIZIANAGARAM DISTRICT The Parliament has enacted the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 with the primary objective of providing free and competent Legal Services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for the purpose of achieving the said goals. Many of the provisions of this Act have been amended in the year 1994. The Legal Services Authorities Act has brought into force with effect from 09111995. An Act to constitute Legal Services Authority to provide free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of this society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity. Article 39A of the Indian Constitution directs the state to provide “free legal aid” and “equal justice” to all the citizen by suitable legislation of schemes. These regulations may be called the National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services) Regulations, 2010. They shall be applicable to Supreme Court Legal Services aCommittee, State Legal Services Authorities, High Court Legal Services Committees, District Legal Services Authorities and Taluk Legal Services Committees in India. They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, “Act” means the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (39 of 1987); “Form” means a Form annexed to these Regulations; “front office” means a room in the Legal Services Institution where legal services are made available.

The present work aims at investigating the groundwater chemistry in Lakavarapu Kota region of Vizianagaram district by analyzing the groundwater samples collected from several sampling locations spread across the study area uniformly. Materials and methods.360 groundwater samples, 120 samples each in Post-monsoon (November 2018-February 2019), Pre-monsoon (March 2019-June 2019) and Monsoon (July2019-October 2019) are collected from bore holes of 30 selected locations in the study area at regular monthly intervals and analyzed for various quality indicating parameters such as pH, EC, TDS, TH, TA, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, CO32-, HCO3-, Cl-, SO42-, NO3-, F- using standard laboratory procedures. Results. A Weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index (WAIWQI) method is used to assess the overall quality of groundwater in the study area. It is observed that quality of about 60% of the water samples is good, about 30% is poor and remaining 10% is very poor for drinking purpose in the study area.

Agricultural productivity has to be enhanced to meet the increasing demand of ever growing population of the country. The study area covering an about 6533 sq km has been studied for the land systems, landforms, soils, land use and hydro-geomorphology using IRS-P6, LISS III data on scale 1: 50,000. The major soils of the study area are red loamy soils, red sandy soils, deltaic alluvial soils, laterite soils and coastal soils. The major part of the land is utilized for cultivation of paddy (Kharif). The hills of the region contain degraded forest. The land capability has been evaluated based on the physical characteristics of the study area seven classes of land are identified. Land capability classification is a scientific appraisal of the physical characteristics of land, its inherent soil qualities and the farm management practices. The land capability maps are more useful for the delineation of potential arable lands. The information on land suitability gives an idea about the soils, which are suitable(S) and not suitable (N) for a given crop. Within the class suitable, soils are further grouped into highly suitable, moderately suitable and marginally suitable.

The site is having a longitude 83034’50.04”E and latitude 18006’23.60”N The site is surrounded by open lands in all directions except East, open lad followed by road connecting Chinthapalli village to NH5, at a distance of 0.2 Kms. There are three reserve forests in the study area; Konada RF at a distance of 7.8 km in south direction, Kumili RF at a distance of 1.6 km in north-west direction, Amarsingi RF at a distance of 7.6 km in west direction. The nearest human settlement from the site is Kovvada Agraharam Village located at distance of 1.4 km from the site in the South-west direction.
