Within this world, rumors swirl of big breaks for devotees in the city’s spiritual and religious organizations. For others, it is in consultations with local spiritual advisors like professional psychics that they navigate everyday decisions of how to achieve success in Hollywood.

These days, most people have at least heard of the Law of Attrac- tion. For many, their first intro- duction to LOA came about due to the phenomenal popularity of The Secret in 2006. There was so much buzz about this topic at the time, that many long-time personal development gurus jumped on the LOA bandwagon, as if they had been there all along. The next mass wave came a couple years after The Se- cret when Oprah dedicated two shows to the Law of Attraction. Along with extraordinary interest in this topic, came great misunderstanding. In fact, many of those who watched The Secret wrote off the Law of Attraction as materialistic and shallow. If asked to define the Law of Attraction, the majority of people might call up the familiar “like attracts like” definition. Others might say it’s about attracting what you think about or they might cite phrases such as “what you focus on expands” or “thoughts be- come things” – that sort of thing. As Abraham-Hicks explains, the Law of Attraction is so much more than most people realize. The Law of Attraction is re- ally about understanding and accepting (re- membering) Who You Really Are and then do- ing your best to BE Who You Really Are. I get pleasantly surprised when driving along and I see liquid amber trees, golden boughs, fiery red and mellow brown leaves announcing the season of harvest and Thanksgiving. Here we are moving towards all the delight and awe of this rich time of year, feeling blessed and grateful. Just as the year cycles so do we. The difference is of course the way we cycle can be all over the place. I am choosing, I have decided, to be pre- sent in this autumnal season and appreciate all the blessings it brings to our world and to my personal life too. You, Dear Hearts, are part of my harvest and Thanksgiv- ing celebration, part of this season's “mellow fruitfulness”. So I invite all of us con- sciously every day to celebrate in gratitude all our rich blessings. Can you imagine the kind of high energy this practice would create! What a blessing not only for our- selves but for our world. In this time of unrest and anxious concern experienced by so many, such a commitment can flow out from our minds and hearts as a soothing balm. Let us then be the Peace Builders and loving, grateful hearts that we are more than capable of being, witnesses to the blessings of this great fall season. Literary writings exploit any aspect of life for their discussion and make that their literary discourse. Inspirational books are indeed literature too but are quite often treated as mild and not as grave or ‘high’ as to be part of academic literature or the recognized literature's of the world. The following study probes into how inspirational books fuse several interdisciplinary thoughts such as religion, philosophy, psychology and science to form its matrix which makes it all the more an interesting study. Inspirational books attract readers of all religions and walks of life for its intentions are progressive and base their arguments more on the general ethics of life than in terms of propagating any individual religion. This particularly impresses any reader who is thereby not compelled to listen to any religious propaganda or discourse. Besides, the arguments delve into practicalities that are highly relevant and crucial for the sanity of everyday life unlike literature that tends to combine with imagination. Though inspirational books do appease the imagination too it also expands the scope for the reader to visualize and realize too the latter ones which give a practical approach to life for every reader who involves himself in reading such inspirational books. Therefore, the study attempts to look at Joseph Murphy’ s inspirational book titled, The Power of the Subconscious Mind identifying the various aspects of the text that appeal to the reader in an aesthetic manner at par with that of literary texts.
