Brief course description: The course provides knowledge of political thought, key political theories, philosophies and their thinkers that have had an impact on policy making and management of state. The course focuses on the following authors and their ideas in the context of political decision-making, management and public administration: Plato, Niccolo Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Montesquieu, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Jeremy Bentham, John Stuart Mill, Karl Marx, Max Weber, Robert Michels, John Rawls, Isaiah Berlin and others.
