Lands of Ha'well, Tankerness, Orkney LANDS OF HA’WELL, TANKERNESS, ORKNEY (Offers over £140,000) 17.72 hectares (43.76 acres) of agricultural land, divided into 6 fields, in the parish of Tankerness, in the East Mainland of Orkney. (Basic Payment Scheme Entitlements will be included in the sale) Overlooking the lands of Hawell This property is located approximately 7 miles from Orkney’s capital town of Kirkwall, and 1.5 miles off the main Kirkwall to Deerness road on Church Yard Road. THE LAND The lands of Ha’well extend to 17.72 hectares (43.76 acres), divided into 6 fields, in two blocks. The land is all classified as Region 1, which attracts a payment of 170.17 euros per unit under the Basic Payment Scheme, and 82 euros of Greening Payment per unit. The land may also be eligible for an LFAAS payment, subject to animal livestock units owned. Basic Payment Scheme Entitlements will be included in the sale of the property. All fields have mains water supplied to troughs and all fences are in stock proof condition. Field number 4 on the farm map, issued by the Rural Payments Agency, was reseeded in 2017, so has establised new grass. Only ½ of field number 1 is ploughable, the other half being natural grass, but the whole field is classifed as region 1, as is the rest of the land. Field 5 tends to be wetter land. This field has a livestock handling pen in one corner, which is accessed off the main road. The access is a “right-of-way” which will go with the sale of the land. The Heifer weighed 650 kilos and sold for £2200 to Williamsons East Road Kirkwall (Pictured are Fraser Leslie and our Judge Mr D Buchan Auchtydore Farms Aberdeenshire) Reserve Champion was the Limousin Steer Shown by Balfour Baillie Sebay View Tankerness This Steer scaled 620 kilos and sold for £2000 to E Flett Butchers Stromness, purchased on their behalf by local livestock agent W S L Muir Upper Onston Stenness The Steer also won the cup for best beast opposite sex to the Champion. Champion pair of lambs was these Beltex x Texel’s scaling 52 kilos from Biggings Farm Ltd. They sold for £170 per head and were purchased by E Flett Butchers Stromness. Inga Kemp’s Texel cross Lamb won the Young Farmers Section, it weighed 58 kilos and realised £125 and was purchased by Dounby Butchers.     Appendix 5 NHS Orkney Asset Management Summary 2019 to 2029 Planning Regionally, Delivering Locally 1. Introduction NHS Orkney is the smallest territorial health board in Scotland and is responsible for the health care of the population of Orkney. The Board employs around 620 staff and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services. This year has seen the handover of the new Balfour hospital and healthcare facility. This exciting opportunity provides state of the art facilities which is matched by ambitious plans for services and staff across Orkney. 2018-2019 was the last complete financial year prior to the completion of the new Balfour hospital and healthcare facility. It was not however, the sole focus of attention and many other aspects of service delivery have continued to be developed. Although small in scale, NHS Orkney delivers a full range of clinical services, hospital and community based and in common with many other health systems across Scotland face challenges in terms of meeting rising demand, rising costs and perhaps most significantly recruitment to key posts, clinical and non-clinical. 2. Strategic Plan The full scale of NHS Orkney’s priorities for investment aimed at responding to both the current and future challenges it faces, and to deliver its emerging service model include: • Development of integrated hospital and health care facilities incorporating a Rural General Hospital supported by appropriate community rehabilitation and enablement services. • Development of two new primary care hubs to the East and West Mainland. • Improvements to primary and community care facilities to ensure they support the provision of safe and sustainable clinical services to each local community.
