It has been a while since our paths last crossed with Slough having progressed through the leagues to the heights of the Conference South where they currently sit in a comfortable position in the league table, whilst we are looking to the possibility of perhaps taking a step up in the footballing world this season if we can continue with a run of good results in the remaining weeks of the season. In the other semi-final last week Reading Under 23’s eventually overcame Maidenhead United via the penalty route to gain their place in the final and tonight’s winners will join them in the final at a venue to be announced on the 6th May.

As part of the project, Richmond Council’s Parks team are partnering with local volunteer, Jacqui Davidson and her dog Ralph to deliver free, guided monthly walks around Kneller Gardens for people with dementia and their carers. Both Jacqui and Ralph are registered with the charity Pets as Therapy who use trusted volunteers and their behaviourally assessed animals to enhance the health and wellbeing of the community. The project is inspired by the people with dementia who told us in a consultation that they had to give up their dogs when they were diagnosed. The walk will offer an opportunity to people who face barriers to spending time outside to do something that many people take for granted – go for a walk with a dog in a local park.
