No matter what side of the business you may be on— producing, selling, distributing, even buying recordings— there is no longer a “standard operating procedure.” Hence the title of this Special Report, designed as a guide to the abundance of recording and distribution options that seem to be cropping up almost daily thanks to technology’s relentless march forward.     RECORD STORICI I primati Mondiali, Europei, Olimpici stabiliti dagli atleti italiani A scorrere le vecchie carte, si rintracciano numerose grandi prestazioni che gli atleti italiani hanno ottenuto nel Secolo XX. Prestazioni delle quali, per la gran parte, si è persa memoria. Quindi, appare opportuno riproporle in quella che potrebbe essere una delle voci di un nostro “ABBECEDARIO” di atletica, un testo di lettura per le prime classi dei dirigenti federali. Il primo record da ricordare, dei più nobili, è quello di Dorando Pietri a Londra 1908: un proto-primato nella Maratona (come avrebbe scritto Bruno Bonomelli …) cancellato alla pari della sua vittoria. Gli ultimi, già molto lontani nel tempo, sono quelli che Maurizio Damilano ha ottenuto sulla pista di Cuneo nell’autunno 1992. Fra mezzo, molti riscontri tecnici di notevole significato temporale e storico. Nelle tabelle che seguono si è tentato un primo elenco – in ordine cronologico – di tutti quei record Mondiali , Europei e Olimpici che hanno fatto la storia dell’atletica italiana, oltre ad una appendice per non tralasciare una serie di risultati che, per vari motivi, non hanno goduto del crisma dell’ufficialità. In chiave storica va ricordato che la federazione italiana è stata fondata a Milano il 21 ottobre 1906 e che la IAAF ha preso corpo a Berlino nell’ agosto 1913 , dopo che il 17 luglio 1912 i rappresentanti di 17 nazioni – riunitisi a Stoccolma durante i Giochi Olimpici (e tra i quali non figurava nessun italiano) – avevano stabilito di costituire una struttura internazionale che regolamentasse norme e primati dell’atletica leggera. Tra i primi atti della IAAF fu proprio la stesura di una prima lista di record mondiali che venne presentata nel 1914.

    MEETING INTERNAZIONALE DI VIAREGGIO - LE ORIGINI E LA STORIA 1a EDIZIONE – Venerdì 11 AGOSTO 1972 Nel 1972, dal 16 d’agosto al 10 di settembre, si svolsero a Monaco di Baviera i Giochi della XX Olimpiade. Le gare d’atletica leggera erano in programma dal 31 agosto al 9 settembre. Le "squadre nazionali" d'oltreoceano avevano previsto un graduale avvicinamento alla Germania, impegnando il tempo necessario per giungere a Monaco con una serie di manifestazioni nelle quali i loro atleti si sarebbero cimentati con i prossimi avversari europei, svolgendo al tempo stesso un proficuo allenamento. Il "duo" che guidava la F.I.D.A.L. di quegli anni: il piemontese Primo Nebiolo, presidente, ed il toscano GiulianoTosi, suo vice, non si fece sfuggire questa "ghiotta" occasione e riuscì a far scegliere l'Italia come una delle tappe d’avvicinamento a Monaco. Il fiorentino Tosi interpose la sua autorevole influenza per far sì che la scelta per ospitare il "meeting preolimpico" cadesse su una città della Toscana che disponesse di un impianto idoneo all'importanza dell’avvenimento. Scartata Firenze, deserta nel mese d’agosto, e Siena, che pur disponendo di un impianto (stadio del Rastrello) con pista e pedane in "rub-kor", aveva già programmato il suo affermato "Meeting dell'Amicizia" per il mese di luglio, la scelta cadde sulla città di Viareggio che da alcuni anni si era dotata di un efficiente impianto in "tartan" ed aveva già fornito prova di saper affrontare un grande evento d’atletica leggera, potendo vantare fra l'altro l'organizzazione dei triangolari Italia - Stati Uniti - Spagna (19/20 agosto 1967), Italia - Grecia - Spagna (25/26 luglio 1971) e dei Campionati del Comitato Internazionale degli Sports Militari (CISM) La sua naturale connotazione di città balneare, al centro del comprensorio della Versilia, fra i più noti al mondo, fece di Viareggio la sede ideale per una grande manifestazione estiva in grado di reggere il confronto con i più prestigiosi meetings di quel momento.

    FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2020 THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA It was in 1885 that the Thirteenth Territorial Legislature founded the University of Arizona with an appropriation of $25,000 — but no land. This appropriation was not welcomed by many residents of Tucson and Pima County, as they were looking for either the state Capitol building, a prison, or even an asylum for the insane — but definitely not a university. The money would be available on the condition that the community provided a suitable site. Just before the $25,000 was to be returned to the Legislature, two gamblers and a saloon-keeper donated 40 acres of land “way out east of town,” and thus the University could become a reality. Classes began in 1891 with 32 students and six teachers, all accommodated in one building. The first class graduated in 1895, when three students received their degrees. Today, the University of Arizona is one of the nation's top public universities, according to U.S. News & World Report. It has grown to more than 45,000 students and 15,000 faculty and staff members across the University, which includes the main campus, the College of Applied Science & Technology in Sierra Vista, the College of Medicine – Phoenix and Arizona Online. The University is organized into 21 colleges and 23 schools.
