Simply use water soluble or “wash-away” bobbin thread for some of the thread changes so that the top stitches can fluff out. The color changes that require wash-away bobbin are noted on the thread chart by a “WAB” (Wash-Away Bobbin) next to the thread color. All color changes not indicated by a WAB in the thread chart will need regular OESD bobbin thread in the bobbin. And then you’re done – easy breezy!

As an example, here are instructions for BD647_48 “Loopy Flower”.

1. Stitch the first color change with water soluble thread in the bobbin. PHOTO 01 2. Stitch the second color change with water soluble thread in the bobbin. PHOTO 02 3. Change bobbin thread to OESD bobbin thread. 4. Stitch the third color with normal bobbin thread in the bobbin. 5. Stitch the fourth and final color with regular OESD bobbin thread. This is the tack down portion of the design. PHOTO 03 6. When all stitching is completed, fully immerse the item in warm water to remove the water soluble bobbin thread. 7. Remember: 1) When you see the “WAB” on the thread chart, use a wash-away thread in your bobbin for that color and, 2) When it does NOT say “WAB” on the thread chart, use a regular bobbin thread for that color. It’s as simple as that!
