The NSW Government is investing more than $5 billion in the More Trains, More Services program, which will transform the rail network and give customers more reliable and more frequent services.

Under this program, the T4 Illawarra line is set to benefit from a 30% increase in peak services in the first half of the 2020s, allowing capacity for an additional 6,000 travellers in peak periods. The NSW Government recently announced $110 million to deliver the first digital signalling on ’s rail network, between Sutherland enabling controllers to make best use of available and Cronulla. This new technology allows the track space. It will also enable the network to track and train to talk to each other continuously, recover more quickly when an incident occurs.

Cape Solander whale watching platform The NSW Government is installing a new whale watching platform at Cape Solander Kurnell, one of Sydney’s premier whale watching locations. The 240sqm platform will accommodate Artist’s impression of whale watching platform at Cape Solander up to 60 spectators at a time. Risk to visitors will be reduced with new seating that will provide a better viewing experience than the open rock platform. New barriers and warning signs to limit access to the rock platform and cliff edges from the viewing areas will be installed to reduce risk to visitors. The project is due for completion in time for this year’s whale watching season.

New “Super Boat” for Cronulla The Marine Rescue NSW Botany Port Hacking Unit, based in Cronulla, has received the first of three Marine Rescue NSW “Super Boats”, as part of a $2.4 million investment in boating safety for NSW.
