R. Follett1 Texas Board of Water Engineers April 1957 INTRODUCTION One of the functions of the Texas Board of Water Engineers is to make independently, or in cooperation with other state and federal agencies, scientific investigations of the source, amount and quality of ground-water supplies. This compilation is based on water-level data obtained as part of a state-wide observation well program which is financed cooperatively by the Texas Board of Water Engineers and the United States Geological Survey. Compiled herein are water-level decline maps showing fluctuations of the water table in the Southern High Plains of Texas. Changes in water levels between January 1956 and January 1957 are indicated by red (declines) or blue (rise) figures on the county maps. Unpublished water-level measurements for each county are tabulated on the page preceding the map of the county. The figures are in feet below land-surface datum. All water-level measurements are on record in the office of the Texas Board of Water Engineers and the U. S. Geological Survey. They are published periodically in water-level reports, but pending publication, they may be con- suIted in the open files of the above office. 2 WATER-LEVEL MEASUlill-lENTS IN ARMSTRONG COUNTY, TEXAS Depth to water in feet in January (A few measurements were made in December or February) Well 1956 1957 463 153·90 159.47 464 170.05 175·11 465 114.48 117·90 467 155·07 155·92 468 132·37 133·41 3 ARMSTRONG COUNTY BULLETIN ~110$ DECLINE OF WATER LEVELS TEKAS 80ARD OF WATER ENGINEERS IN COOPERATION WITH Januory 1956 1o ,January 1957 u. $. 6[OlOGICA!.
