Professor of Economics, August 2010 – present Tenure track/tenured appointment teaching courses in economic theory and applied microeconomics including the economics of sports and the economics of health and healthcare.

Faculty Director of Assessment, August 2018 – Present Coordinate and assist academic departments and programs with annual assessment reports. Work with the VPAA, the Institutional Effectiveness Specialist and others on college-level assessment. Assist in the preparation of reports regarding accreditation for Middle States.

Department Chair, Economics, June 2012 – May 2018 Served as chair the department during a period of significant transition, including the hiring a broadly diverse cohort of six new tenure-track faculty as well as several non- tenure-track faculty. Led the department through initiatives designed to increase student engagement, including increased contact time for all four-credit courses and the creation of a pre-thesis seminar to enhance the senior seminar experience.

Chair, Committee on Educational Policies and Planning, 2013-14 Served as chair of CEPP during the first full year of the process of the general education curriculum revision process.

Acting Director of Faculty Development, Fall 2013 Coordinated and led new faculty orientation and development programming while the Director was on leave.

New Faculty Orientation Coordinator, August, 2008 – May, 2010 Reporting to the Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Coordinated activities related to new faculty orientation and development, including a year-long luncheon seminar series designed to acquaint new full time faculty with all aspects of the college.

Chief of Staff for Strategic Planning. August, 2007 – June 2008 Reported directly to the President. Assisted the President with the strategic planning leadership team, chaired meetings in his absence and was responsible for coordinating the communication between the leadership team and the three coordinate committees: College, Comenius Center, and Seminary. This position required extensive interaction with all members of the Senior Staff.

Chair, Planning and Budget Committee. Academic Year, 2004-05 The Planning and Budget Committee is charged with oversight and annual determination of the College’s operational budget. It is comprised of four elected faculty and four vice-presidents. The faculty member in her/his third year of service chairs the committee and serves on president’s staff for that year.

Department Chair, Economics and Business. July 1999 – June 2005 Responsibilities included supervision of five degree programs (including the MBA through 2004), 10-11 full-time faculty, a large number of adjuncts, and administrative and student support staff. Primary responsibility for all scheduling and hiring of adjuncts.

ACE Fellow. Office of the President, Lafayette College Extensive project work related to the strategic planning effort that began during the 2006- 07 academic year, including service on: • Strategic Planning Steering Committee • Diversity and Access Subcommittee • Athletics Working Group During my fellowship year, I also did in-depth independent research on mentoring untenured faculty and faculty development, including campus visits and meetings with chief academic officers and associates at a number of highly selective liberal arts colleges in the northeast. ACE Fellows also attend three one-week offsite seminars as a group and attend higher education conferences and seminars. In my case, I attended the AAC&U meetings, the ACE annual meeting, and a conference on hiring and retaining faculty of color at the University of Minnesota.
