District Rotary Summer Camp 2019 „Sports and Culture“ June 28th - July 11th, 2019

OVERVIEW Age: 16 – 18, by the time of July 1st, 2019 Application: STEP application form in PDF file with photo before March, 31st, 2019 Participants: Max. 20, 2 girls & 2 boys per country preferred Costs: Participation fee is EUR 200, ticket to and from Germany plus pocket money for personal expenses APPLY NOW AT YOUR Conditions: Basic skills in biking and adequate skills in swimming. Fri. June 28 Arrival at Hanover (before 5 pm), welcome dinner at the Steinhuder Meer and camp information, Lodging: host families Sat. June 29 Morning: welcome by the mayor of Garbsen, Afternoon: preparing bikes and tents for the biking tour, family time with host family, Lodging: host families Sun. June 30 Morning: Travel via ICE-train to Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Afternoon: visit of medieval town Hannoversch Münden, Lodging: campground Mon. July 01 Morning: canoe ride (10km) on the Weser river, bike ride (20km) to Bad Karlshafen, Afternoon: Your host family will pick you up at bike ride (40km) to the Abbey of Corvey (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lodging: campground Hanover Airport or Main Railway Station Tue. July 02 Morning: visit of Corvey Abbey and bike ride (20km) to Holzminden, visit of Allersheim brewery, on June 28th, 2019. Please try to arrive Afternoon: bike ride (30km) via ruins of Polle Castle to Grohnder Fährhaus, Lodging: campground before 5 pm. You will be staying at the home of your Wed. July 03 Morning: bike ride (20km) via Castle Hämelschenburg to Hamelin, Afternoon: bike ride (30km) host family for the first two and the last to lake Doktor See, swimming and relaxing on sandy beaches, Lodging: campground six nights. Thu. July 04 Morning: bike ride (40km) via Porta Westfalica and Minden to Bückeburg Palace, For five days we will be biking alongside Afternoon: visit of the palace, bike ride to Baum Hunting Lodge (20km), Lodging: Lodge the Weser river on bike paths. The paths are easy to bike with an overall distance Fri. July 05 Morning: bike ride (30km) along the Mittelland Canal to Steinhude, where the tour ends, of 250km. Afternoon: relaxing at Steinhuder Meer, Lodging: host families You will experience beautiful landscapes, Sat. July 06 Morning: family time with host family, Afternoon: Hanover City, shopping, Lodging: host families medieval cities, castles and four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Sun. July 07 Train tour to : Speicherstadt (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lodging: host families Finally, you have the chance to learn Mon. ADDITIONAL FACT SHEET Application: Acceptances will be granted on a “first come first served” basis subject to country and gender limitations above. As soon as the acceptance of your application is send to you via e-mail, the amount of EUR200 excl. all remittance fee has to be wired within three weeks. All applicants have to arrive with a full return ticket and necessary visa.
