June 30 Morning: Travel via ICE-train to Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Afternoon: visit of medieval town Hannoversch Münden, Lodging: campground Mon. July 01 Morning: canoe ride (10km) on the Weser river, bike ride (20km) to Bad Karlshafen, Afternoon: Your host family will pick you up at bike ride (40km) to the Abbey of Corvey (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lodging: campground Hanover Airport or Main Railway Station Tue. July 02 Morning: visit of Corvey Abbey and bike ride (20km) to Holzminden, visit of Allersheim brewery, on June 28th, 2019. Please try to arrive Afternoon: bike ride (30km) via ruins of Polle Castle to Grohnder Fährhaus, Lodging: campground before 5 pm. You will be staying at the home of your Wed. July 03 Morning: bike ride (20km) via Castle Hämelschenburg to Hamelin, Afternoon: bike ride (30km) host family for the first two and the last to lake Doktor See, swimming and relaxing on sandy beaches, Lodging: campground six nights. Thu. July 04 Morning: bike ride (40km) via Porta Westfalica and Minden to Bückeburg Palace, For five days we will be biking alongside Afternoon: visit of the palace, bike ride to Baum Hunting Lodge (20km), Lodging: Lodge the Weser river on bike paths. The paths are easy to bike with an overall distance Fri. July 05 Morning: bike ride (30km) along the Mittelland Canal to Steinhude, where the tour ends, of 250km. As soon as the acceptance of your application is send to you via e-mail, the amount of EUR200 excl. all remittance fee has to be wired within three weeks. All applicants have to arrive with a full return ticket and necessary visa. The 829th HAMBURG PORT ANNIVERSARY will be held from Thursday 10 May to Sunday 13 May, in the unique setting of the Port of Hamburg, with a varied maritime programme for young and old. This year the world’s greatest port festival is extended to four days, taking advantage of the public holiday (Ascension Day). It will be held around Landungsbrücken, in the Speicherstadt warehouse district, in the HafenCity district with the heritage harbours and Grasbrookhafen, at the Fish Market, and at the Oevelgönne Museum Harbour. Visitors can look forward to a superlative maritime experience with more than 200 attractive programme items, starting with the Grand Arrival Parade on the Thursday, and ending with the Grand Departure Parade on the Sunday. Before the start of the spectacle on the Elbe and its banks, the International ecumenical opening service will be held at St. Michael’s Church at 14:30 on the Thursday. After that, the world’s greatest port festival will be opened by Peter Tschentscher, Mayor of Hamburg, by ringing the ship’s bell on the museum ship Rickmer Rickmers. A salute will be fired at 16:30 to welcome the ships and boats from all parts of the world in the Grand Arrival Parade.

    Denkmalschutzamt HAMBURG QUARTIER AM KLOSTERWALL Welterbe Speicherstadt und Kontorhausviertel mit Chilehaus Stellungnahme zum Advisory Mission Report von ICOMOS International vom März 2019 Behörde für Kultur und Medien der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg Stellungnahme vom 19.03.2019 zum Advisory Mission Report von ICOMOS International „Speicherstadt und Kontorhausviertel mit Chilehaus“ vom März 2019 – Behörde für Kultur und Medien 2015 wurden Speicherstadt und Kontorhausviertel mit Chilehaus in die Welterbeliste aufgenommen. Der seit 2013 unter Denkmalschutz stehende, sanierungsbedürftige Hochhauskomplex „City-Hof“ liegt in der Pufferzone der Welterbestätte. Noch vor der Welterbe-Nominierung von Speicherstadt und Kontorhausviertel mit Chilehaus hat die FHH einen städtebaulichen Prozess gestartet, um für das Quartier am Klosterwall die bestmögliche Lösung zu finden. In diesem Prozess wurden für den City-Hof sowohl Sanierungs- als auch Neubauvarianten geprüft. Im Februar 2018 hat der Senat als Ergebnis dieses Prozesses final festgestellt, dass überwiegende öffentliche Interessen es verlangen, den City-Hof abzureißen und durch einen Neubau zu ersetzen. In einer Kulturerbe-Verträglichkeitsprüfung (HIA) hat die FHH im Frühjahr 2018 dargelegt, dass durch diesen Abriss zwar eine wichtige bauhistorische Stadtschicht verloren gehen würde, aber keine Auswirkungen auf den Welterbestatus zu erwarten wären.     Press Release Hamburg, 6 July 2015 Fund property granted World Heritage status: Hamburg's Chilehaus building recognised by UNESCO It has been on Germany's Tentative List for UNESCO World Heritage Site status for many years. Since Sunday, the Chilehaus building in Hamburg has now been officially recognised. Together with the Kontorhaus district and Speicherstadt warehouse district, the iconic office building was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the first of its kind in Hamburg. The decision by the World Heritage Committee acknowledges the exceptional universal value of this inner-city ensemble. Designed by Fritz Höger and commissioned by businessman Henry B. Sloman, the Chilehaus building was constructed between 1922 and 1924. When it opened on 1 April 1924, it was typical of the new style of office building (“Kontorhaus”) being built in Hamburg. The ten-storey office and commercial building has been part of the portfolio of open-ended real estate fund Unilmmo: Deutschland since 1993. The property is currently 90 per cent let. “This recognition is very special both for our investors and for us as the owner and asset manager of Chilehaus. After all, who else has a World Heritage Site in their portfolio, and one which has delivered excellent returns over many years?” said a delighted Dr. Reinhard Kutscher, Chairman of the Management Board of Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.
