The office will be closed July 2- 13 The office will be open the following days: July 18, 25, August 1, 7, 8, 9 9-1 p.m. School office will re-open daily on August 13 9-2 p.m. School resumes Monday, August 20 with a noon dismissal. This program is offered every day school is in session and will operate from 2:50-5:45. After School Care (ASC) will only be provided on school days with a noon dismissal as staffing allows. The After School Care Program will provide supervised care in a nurturing environment. It is an extension of our school day and the rules and policies in our Parent-Student Handbook will be strictly enforced. Failure to follow school rules will result in the enforcement of the appropriate school discipline policy. Students who are consistently disruptive will be asked to leave the program. Daily Schedule K3 and K4 will always be in the daycare building or on the daycare playground K5- 2:50-3:00 Take role in the classroom 3:00-3:30 School playground 3:30-5:00 K4 hallway in main school building 5:00-5:45 Cougar Den 1st-8th- 2:50-3:30 Students will do homework in assigned ASC classroom 3:30-5:00 School playground 5:00-5:45 Cougar Den (The After School Care Program is not responsible if your child does not complete his/her homework. We only give the allowed time for them to do so and offer any assistance they ask for within the teachers’ abilities.) Parent Responsibilities • A registration form must be completed and returned to the school office by August 1. • Sign out sheets must be signed daily. • If anyone other than those listed on the registration form will pick up your child we must receive written notice. A photo ID is required. • Late fees will be applied to children not picked up on time. • Any child that is going to be leaving ASC with a coach for practice MUST have a permission slip filled out, signed and turned into the school office. We do not allow them to leave otherwise. • Sign up for the Remind app so you know what’s going on!!! Student Responsibilities • All students must come straight to their ASC classrooms. No child should be left wandering the campus without supervision. • All students are expected to follow the rules in the CCS Parent-Student Handbook. • Students may not use cell phones or other electronic devices. Registration for the ASC program will not be accepted until all financial obligations with the previous year’s ASC have been met. ASC Regular Fees 1 child $40.00/week One week is three days or more 2 children $60.00/week One week is three days or more 3 children $80.00/week One week is three days or more Drop in rate/child $10.00 Late Fees after 5:45 10-15 minutes late $10.00 per child Morning Care Children may be dropped off between 6:00 a.m. and 7 a.m. in the preschool building. There will be a $3.00/day fee for this service. For more than 30 years, the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) program has endeavored to promote diversity in the faculty of higher education, specifically by supporting thousands of students from underrepresented minority groups in their goal of obtaining PhDs. With the MMUF Journal, we provide an additional opportunity for students to experience academia through exposure to the publishing process. In addition to providing an audience for student work, the journal offers an introduction to the publishing process, including peer review and editor-guided revision of scholarly work. For the majority of students, the MMUF Journal is their first experience in publishing a scholarly article. The 2018 Journal features writing by 27 authors from 22 colleges and universities that are part of the program’s member institutions. The scholarship represented in the journal ranges from research conducted under the MMUF program, introductions to senior theses, and papers written for university courses. The work presented here includes scholarship from a wide range of disciples, from history to linguistics to political science. The papers presented here will take the reader on a journey. Readers will travel across the U.S., from Texas to South Carolina to California, and to countries ranging from Brazil and Nicaragua to Germany and South Korea, as they learn about theater, race relations, and the refugee experience.
