WALKER CURRAN A Tribute to Ducks Tonight, we pay tribute to the Anaheim Ducks, who for any fan living in a cave for the past eight months, is the Condors NHL affi liate. However, tribute should also be paid to other important ducks. Daffy Duck, animated cartoon character in the Warner Brothers Looney Tunes series. Daffy has black feathers with an orange bill, legs and feet and he typically goes without clothing. He is known as the Bugs Bunny’s best friend and, occasionally, his rival of Bugs Bunny. Daffy speaks with a noticeable lisp. Donald Duck is a cartoon character from The Walt Disney Company, created a few years after Daffy Duck, to rival the Warner Brothers’ earlier creation. Donald has white feathers with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a blue sailor shirt, blue cap, and a red bowtie, but no pants. Donald is Mickey Mouse’s best friend and is famous for being easily provoked and having an explosive temper. The Afl ac Duck has become widely recognized as the face of the American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus. The Afl ac Duck, which has no offi cial name, was created in 1999. The duck quacks the company’s name to unsuspecting prospective policy holders and has appeared with Chevy Chase, Yogi Berra, Yao Ming, Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, United States Olympic synchronized swimming team, and Wayne Newton. Howard the Duck is a comic book character created by Marvel Comics. In 1986, a live-action fi lm was produced by Universal featuring Howard. In Marvel Comics, Howard was abducted at birth and left on earth. He becomes a superhero battling evil characters and even meets Spider- Man. Other ducks who receive honorable mention are: • Plucky • Daisy • DarkWing Duck • The Mighty Ducks • Scrooge McDuck • Huey, Dewey, Louie • Wade Duck • The Duck from the sitcom Friends • Dooby Duck’s Disco Bus • Gertrude • Orville the Duck • Edd the Duck • Tom Holden • Saturnin • Dynamo Duck • Plucka Duck • The ducks in the Condors commercial • The Ugly Duckling (which would actually be a Cygnet) CONDORS STATS as of 01.20.09 Name GP G A PTS +/- PIM PPG SHG Pt/G PIMPG * 10 Matt Pope F 36 23 17 40 -3 46 10 1 1.11 1.28 27 Chad Painchaud RW 39 9 29 38 -9 30 3 1 0.97 0.77 15 Dave Bonk C 27 11 17 28 -6 35 6 0 1.04 1.3 9 Andrew Ianiero F 39 12 15 27 -6 26 4 0 0.69 0.67 11 Bruce Graham (total) C 39 12 14 26 -23 45 7 0 0.67 1.15 32 Mike Wirll (total) RW 27 8 17 25 -15 20 2 2 0.93 0.74 19 Mark Derlago LW 16 9 13 22 0 12 4 0 1.38 0.75 12 Brett Pilkington (total) C 32 5 14 19 -14 4 2 0 0.59 0.12 4 Martin Frechette D 32 7 8 15 -6 73 4 0 0.47 2.28 * 14 Tylor Michel F 32 3 10 13 -8 41 0 0 0.41 1.28 25 Ryan Mahrle (total) D 35 3 9 12 -3 20 1 1 0.34 0.57 23 Donny Grover (total) D 35 0 11 11 -1 39 0 0 0.31 1.11 5 Tyler Scott D 32 2 6 8 -8 18 2 0 0.25 0.56 * 2 Chris Kaufman D 19 1 6 7 -6 18 1 0 0.37 0.95 22 Liam Huculak RW 30 2 3 5 -13 118 0 0 0.17 3.93 * 8 Sean Hurley D 27 1 4 5 -12 14 0 0 0.19 0.52 7 Scott Balan D 35 0 5 5 -15 77 0 0 0.14 2.2 * 36 Tom Morrow D 36 0 3 3 -11 42 0 0 0.08 1.17 6 Jay Langager D 9 1 1 2 -5 8 1 0 0.22 0.89 44 Yutaka Fukufuji G 13 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 41 Dave McKee G 15 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Name GP Mins GA Shutouts Avg.
