It’s one thing to see religious puritans destroy art, but when the artists start doing it to each other, it’s macabre. The thought police don’t even have to show up to work. We’re policing ourselves. Even the bands featured on the show have “disavowed” their association. Again, nobody has brought up what sketch they have a problem with. They’re not asked to prove anything. Once you’re a heretic, you’re done.

Liberal beta males tell the outraged few we are being crybabies and we have to accept the way the free market behaves. World Peace SIGN UP had higher ratings than the first season of The Show. Daily updates with TM’s latest

I’ve heard the only show that beat it was Family Guy. Mike Lazzo Enter email | hit return had asked for another 100 episodes and the guys had begun creating them. That’s the free market. Harassing Turner executives until they demand Lazzo make the problem go away is not. If your ex-girlfriend comes storming into your office and trashes the place every day until you get fired, the guy who fires you isn’t reacting to the market. He’s reacting to the crazy bitch.

This is why the First Amendment is just as relevant in Britain and Canada as it is here. If the people—the culture—don’t want free speech, the law isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. In Canada and Joe Bob Briggs Britain it’s illegal to commit thought crimes. You will be bankrupted if you say something that offends the liberal narrative. In America Patrick J. Buchanan it is perfectly legal to say whatever you want. The government won’t punish you, the people will. They’ll call your boss until you get David Cole fired. The end result is the same in both cases. I don’t care who’s Theodore Dalrymple doing the goose-stepping or who is carrying the truncheons. I hate ANOTHER Nazis. hoepper • 3 months ago Comments continue after advertisement The problem does not lie with the particular network, but rather with the power the advertisers exert over the content. And the advertisers again follow the "outrage" that a small minority of beta males, dykes, and other losers harass the advertisers with, conveniently and exponentially magnified through the network. We, as productive members of society don't have the time to make a huge stink about the leftist drivel because we have jobs and we believe in free speech. This will only change once we apply pressure on advertisers to ignore the leftist whining - prominently exercised in the case of the duck dynasty show. But then, I do have the slight suspicion that a number of globalist owners of the media and advertisers like the indoctrination shows the left puts on for the younger generation. After all there is more power to be exerted over a pliable SJW horde than over a nation of independent and critical thinkers. 39 △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

Wigless > hoepper • 3 months ago '...the power the advertisers exert over the content...' You'd be gratified to see what's happening over at Breitbart as they push back against Kelloggs.

Hopefully the upshot of that little fracas will be a salient lesson in the power the consumers have over the advertisers. 32 △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

Wigless > Joe McCarthy • 3 months ago It dropped about 4% at the time the boycott started in early Dec but has since regained most of those losses.

The lesson is two fold - for firms that any politically-inspired actions have consequences and most importantly, for conservatives that they shouldn't blithely accept firms' politically charged business decisions.

Company advertising should be aimed at reaching the widest audience - not pushing a particular ideology to their customers whose preferences cover a wide political spectrum △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

rust > Wigless • 3 months ago Company advertising should be aimed at reaching the widest audience

Wrong. Advertising should be aimed with precision at a target audience.. 3 △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

No Rulers > rust • 3 months ago The two statements aren't necessarily mutuially exclusive, are they? Couldn't the widest possible audience (assuming they're potential buyers) mean the same thing as the target audience? △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

heppamonkey > Wigless • 3 months ago I called Kellogg's to tell them I was boycotting them after I read about them pulling out of Breitbart on Huffpo (yes, I make sure to keep up on what the idiot class is saying). At the time I didn't know there was any sort of organized boycott going on, I just figured I'd have my say.

I spoke to a very nice woman on the phone, and politely explained what I was doing and why. I have no idea if it did any good or not.

Using the tactics of the left is a little distasteful to me, but if it must be done, then I guess it must be done.

Maybe if we all whipsaw the advertisers, then they'll get sick of it and ignore it and go back to just advertising where they think they'll make the most money.

Blunt the tools of the Left by overuse! 9 △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

armenia4ever > heppamonkey • 3 months ago I admire your effort, but when you talk to people who work at call centers like myself, we don't give a shit about protests of any kind - unless you are going to buy something.

I had some lady bitch about the company I "work" for dropping Brandon Marshall from their sponsorship.

I said okay to her about her social justice wailings, and then went to the next call. on my floor cared. It never went further. △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›

heppamonkey > armenia4ever • 3 months ago Well, true and not true. I'm sure my one little call did nothing, and Kellogg's couldn't care less whether I buy their cereal or not. But I have also worked in call centers in my life, and we did talk to each other and management about the sort of calls we were getting. If there were a gazillion calls coming in saying they were going to boycott, somebody would hear about it.

That being said, I'm pretty sure that didn't happen at Kellogg's. Mostly I just made myself feel better by pushing back. But who knows what the future may bring, and it wouldn't be such a bad thing if boycotts on the right started having some teeth. 3 △ ▽ • Reply • Share ›
