Comedy Central Gives Series Orders to 'Another Period' & 'Idiotsitter', Renews 'Inside Amy Schumer,' Review' & Comedy Central Gives Series Orders To ‘Another Period’ & ‘Idiotsitter’, Renews ‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ Review’ & ‘TripTank’ by Nellie Andreeva June 9, 2014 12:00pm Comedy Central has picked up to series Another Period, a spoof of a Keeping Up With The Kardashians-like reality show set in Victorian times, and Idiotsitter, a TV version of the digital series. The network also has renewed the well-received original series Inside Amy Schumer for a third season as well as freshmen Review and TripTank for a second season. In addition, Comedy Central has ordered five original digital series: 300 Sunnyside, New Timers, Pie Guys, Roustabout With Kurt Braunohler and Team Tiger Awesome to premiere later this year. Here are details about Comedy Central’s newly picked up and renewed series: SERIES ORDERS Another Period – set at the turn of the century, “Another Period” follows the misadventures of the Bellacourts, Newport, RI’s first family, who have absolutely nothing to offer to the world, but who have so much money it doesn’t matter. The series focuses on sisters “Lillian” (Natasha Leggero) and “Beatrice” (Riki Lindhome), who care only about how they look, what parties they attend and becoming famous, which is a lot harder in 1902. The series is written, executive produced and stars Leggero and Lindhome, executive produced and directed by Jeremy Konner (“Drunk History”) and executive produced by Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein. The pilot also stars Michael Ian Black, Paget Brewster, Beth Dover, Brett Gelman, Tom Lennon, Jason Ritter, Rosa Salazar and Armen Weitzman. Leggero, who also has an upcoming one-hour special at Comedy Central, was repped in the deal by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment and attorney Lev Ginsburg. Lindhome, who is also starring in and executive producing of the newly-ordered Garfunkel & Oates series on IFC, is repped by WME, Principato Young Entertainment and attorney Lev Ginsburg. Idiotsitter – created by Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell, who co-stars in Comedy Central’s series Workaholics, “Idiotsitter” follows a straight-and-narrow young woman (Newhouse) who is hired to babysit a mega-rich womanchild (Bell) who is under house arrest in her daddy’s mansion. Idiotsitter originated on Comedy Central’s digital platform and is the second digital series produced by CC:Studios to make the transition to an on-air series. Newhouse is repped by Gersh, Evolution Management, and attorney Lev Ginsburg. Bell is with Innovative, 3 Arts and attorney Chad Christopher. Inside Amy Schumer – renewed for a third season, Amy Schumer’s critically-acclaimed sketch series has tackled everything from sexual politics to Aaron Sorkin, with guest appearances from Paul Giamatti, Josh Charles, Zach Braff, Parker Posey, and many other notable names. The Los Angeles Times hailed the latest season as “brilliant, biting… outrageous” and Entertainment Weekly said it was “sharper than ever.” The series was created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, who executive produce along with Jessi Klein, the series’ Head Writer. Steve Ast is co-executive producer and production services are provided by Jax Media, helmed by veteran producer Tony Hernandez. Original music composed by Questlove. Brooke Posch and Cory Stern are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. Review – renewed for a second season, “Review” stars Andy Daly (“Eastbound & Down”) as life critic “Forrest MacNeil” and follows this atypical reviewer as he goes above and beyond the boring subjects like films, food or art. Called “the funniest TV debut of 2014” (A.V. Club) and “television’s most gleefully black comedy” (Paste Magazine), “Review” follows Forrest MacNeil as he reviews life itself: the adrenaline rush of stealing, the dangers of drug addiction, the joys of sleeping with a celebrity and answers life’s most challenging questions while dealing with the unintended consequences. The second season will be executive produced by Daly, Jeffrey Blitz and Charlie Siskel. Jim Sharp and Gary Mann are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. TripTank – renewed for a 20-episode second season, TripTank” showcases a wide range of fast-paced, hard-hitting animated comedy shorts presented in an anthology style, weaving together stand-alone and recurring narrative pieces. The series is executive produced by ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico and delivers a variety of mind-bending animation styles featuring a broad range of formats including 2D, stop-motion and CGI from a varied list of talented creators, including Tommy Blacha (“The Eric Andre Show,” “Metalocalypse”), Daniel Cardenas (“Xemoland,” “Deep Space 69”), Nick Gurewitch (PBF Comics), Evan Keogh (PBF Comics), Laura Kightlinger (“Saturday Night Live”), Jordan Morris (PBF Comics), Bill Oakley (“The Simpsons,” “Portlandia”), Bob Odenkirk (“Mr. Show,” “Breaking Bad”), Tim Saccardo (“Community”), and Greg White (“Ugly Americans,” “Brickleberry”).     What Will it Take to Save Comedy Central? 08.16.2016 Comedy Central's cancellation of The Nightly Show is the latest in a series of signals that all is not well at the network that was once the home of the country's sharpest political satire and news commentary. On Monday, Comedy Central announced that it was cancelling the show, which took Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report time slot in February 2015 when Colbert moved over to CBS' The Late Show. The move was not surprising considering the ratings: The Nightly Show is averaging a barely-there 0.2 among its key demographic of adults 18-49. RELATED: Comedy Central Cancels 'The Nightly Show' But The Nightly Show's failure to catch on is not the only problem at Comedy Central. Consider its late-night partner, The Daily Show, long the network's marquee program with host Jon Stewart. Stewart left the show just over a year ago and was replaced with South African comic Trevor Noah, who was hand-picked by Stewart. But despite Comedy Central's best efforts to reassure the media and audiences that Noah would eventually catch on, so far he hasn't. In May, The Wrap reported that The Daily Show had lost 38% of Stewart's audience among millennials aged 18-34 and 35% in households. And that comes at a time when the country is in the middle of a presidential election that lends itself extremely well to satire. It's also proven to be a mistake to let so much of its talent walk out the door, with Stephen Colbert going to CBS, John Oliver to HBO and Samantha Bee to TBS, taking much of Comedy Central's brand equity with them.

    Ny serie gör parodi på Downtown Abbey och Familjen Kardashian – till musik av Snoop Dogg Nu är det premiär för komediserien ”Another Period” på Comedy Central, en parodi på Downtown Abbey och reality-TV med musik av Snoop Dogg. I första avsnittet får vi möta Christina Hendricks som tjänstebiträdet ”Chair”. Serien har Sverigepremiär den 7 februari och har redan fått blivit en internationell fframgång. Föreställ dig en kombination av den brittiska tv-succén ”Downtown Abbey” och dokusåpan ”Familjen Kardashian”, tillsätt musik från rapparen Snoop Dogg och konceptet för den nya komediserien Another Period är klart. Another Period följer den aristokratiska familjen Bellacourt som lever ett lyxigt liv på Rhode Island i början av 1900-talet. Huvudpersonerna är systrarna Lillian och Beatrice, spelade av Natasha Leggero och Riki Lind Home, vars mål är enkelt: att bli så kända som möjligt! Another Period har fått stor internationell uppmärksamhet och Rolling Stone magazine har beskrivit serien som ”Downtown Abbey möter Familjen Kardashians” då serien är en parodi av dagens realityserier men utspelar sig i sekelskiftsmiljö. Familjen fyller sina dagar med pengar, sex och droger. I första avsnittet får vi möta systrarna Bellacourt och deras förberedelser för att underhålla en Newport-mäklare. Samtidigt försöker tjänstebiträdet Celine (Christina Hendricks) anpassa sig till livet som hushållerska hos Bellacourtfamiljen och smeknamnet som hon tilldelas - Chair (”Stol”). Första avsnittet gästas av Shoshannah Stern (som Helen Keller), Kate Flannery (som Annie Sullivan) och Artemis Pebdani (som Hortense Bellacourt). Natasha Leggero och Riki Lindhome spelar inte bara huvudrollerna utan är också seriens skapare. Another Period är regisserad av Jeremy Konner tillsammans med Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld, Devvie Liebling och Mike Rosenstein.
