KURRAM AGENCY FOREWORD This Village List is prepared from the Enumeration carried out in the First Census of Pakistan during February 1951. It gives the population of the smaller area!> and thus preserves information which would otherwise be merged in the statistical totals of the Census Report. It is hoped that the preparation of this list will form a basis for the continued collection of Village Statistics. The enumeration in the Tribal Areas was carried out partly on special tribal enu meration slips, and partly by means of estimates prepared by Political Officers. In Kurram Agency, the whole population except members of the Services was enumerated on Tribal Slips. Members of the Services, enumerated on standard All-Pakistan Enumeration forms, are not included in the figures in the Village List but are merged with the figures in the Census Reports of the N.W.F. Province. The Village List is in two parts; first a summary of Kurram Agency and secondly a list of Villages. In both sections the population is analysed according to the tribes as stated by the respond !nts on their Enumeration Slips. Tbe following symbols have been used in the Tables ;- P-Total Population. M-Males. F-Females. Sch.-Primary School. M. Sch.-Middle School. H. Sch.-High School. Disp.-Dispensary. P. S.-Police Station. N.-W. F. TRIBAL AREA KURRUM AGENCY "-j.l.J Li . l ,. Guía Mundial de Oración (GMO). Noviembre 2014 Titulares: Los inconquistables Pashtun!

  • Hajji Din Mohammad Biography
Program for Culture & Conflict Studies www.nps.edu/programs/ccs Hajji Din Mohammad Biography Hajji Din Mohammad, a former mujahedin fighter from the Khalis faction of Hezb-e Islami, became governor of the eastern province of Nangarhar after the assassination of his brother, Hajji Abdul Qadir, in July 2002. He is also the brother of slain commander Abdul Haq. He is currently serving as the provincial governor of Kabul Province. Hajji Din Mohammad’s great-grandfather, Wazir Arsala Khan, served as Foreign Minister of Afghanistan in 1869. One of Arsala Khan's descendents, Taj Mohammad Khan, was a general at the Battle of Maiwand where a British regiment was decimated by Afghan combatants. Another descendent, Abdul Jabbar Khan, was Afghanistan’s first ambassador to Russia. Hajji Din Mohammad’s father, Amanullah Khan Jabbarkhel, served as a district administer in various parts of the country. Two of his uncles, Mohammad Rafiq Khan Jabbarkhel and Hajji Zaman Khan Jabbarkhel, were members of the 7th session of the Afghan Parliament. Hajji Din Mohammad’s brothers Abdul Haq and Hajji Abdul Qadir were Mujahedin commanders who fought against the forces of the USSR during the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan from 1980 through 1989. In 2001, Abdul Haq was captured and executed by the Taliban. Hajji Abdul Qadir served as a Governor of Nangarhar Province after the Soviet Occupation and was credited with maintaining peace in the province during the years of civil conflict that followed the Soviet withdrawal. Hajji Abdul Qadir served as a Vice President in the newly formed post-Taliban government of Hamid Karzai, but was assassinated by unknown assailants in 2002.

1213297 [2013] RRTA 91 (25 January 2013) DECISION RECORD RRT CASE NUMBER: 1213297 DIAC REFERENCE(S): CLF2012/141724 COUNTRY OF REFERENCE: Pakistan TRIBUNAL MEMBER: Amanda Goodier DATE: 25 January 2013 PLACE OF DECISION: Perth DECISION: The Tribunal remits the matter for reconsideration with the direction that the applicant satisfies s.36(2)(a) of the Migration Act. STATEMENT OF DECISION AND REASONS APPLICATION FOR REVIEW 1. This is an application for review of a decision made by a delegate of the Minister for Immigration to refuse to grant the applicant a Protection (Class XA) visa under s.65 of the Migration Act 1958 (the Act). 2. The applicant who claims to be a citizen of Pakistan applied to the Department of Immigration for the visa on [date deleted under s.431(2) of the Migration Act 1958 as this information may identify the applicant] June 2012. 3. The delegate refused to grant the visa [in] August 2012, and the applicant applied to the Tribunal for review of that decision. RELEVANT LAW 4. Under s.65(1) a visa may be granted only if the decision maker is satisfied that the prescribed criteria for the visa have been satisfied. The criteria for a protection visa are set out in s.36 of the Act and Part 866 of Schedule 2 to the Migration Regulations 1994 (the Regulations). An applicant for the visa must meet one of the alternative criteria in s.36(2)(a), (aa), (b), or (c). That is, the applicant is either a person in respect of whom Australia has protection obligations under the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees as amended by the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees (together, the Refugees Convention, or the Convention), or on other ‘complementary protection’ grounds, or is a member of the same family unit as a person in respect of whom Australia has protection obligations under s.36(2) and that person holds a protection visa.
