He informed the Council that his funeral would be held on Thursday, 28 March at 2pm in Bathafarn Chapel, Market Street. 210 . APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE Apologies for absence were received from County Councillor Bobby Feeley. 211. PRESENTATION FROM RUTHIN POLICE The Mayor welcomed Sergeant Martin Jones to the meeting. He gave a presentation, referring to the large number of shed break-in recently. He said that they were gathering evidence and would be executing warrants shortly. He reported that there was an increase in the use of recreational drugs also. He encouraged members to use the online reporting tool to report any concerns or incidents. This can be used immediately, rather than waiting for a 101 call to be answered. A member asked about police liaison with schools. Sergeant Jones explained that they had Police School Liaison Officers who attended schools regularly to deliver aspects of the curriculum, but the community police no longer routinely go into schools. 212 . Introduction and Background 1.1 This report on publishing children’s books in Welsh was commissioned by the Welsh Books Council’s Publishing Grants Panel (Welsh Language). It was agreed that the work of researching and writing the report should be conducted between August and October 2013. 1.2 The Panel was aware that book sales in general have suffered during the last four or five years, mainly due to the economic situation. In the case of children's books, sales of books for young children are still very good, but the market for older children’s books, and original books in particular, is not as robust. Panel members were also keen to see where children's books supported by the Publishing Grant fit into the wider provision available for children, including electronic material.

    Rhestr Testunau – English Version GENERAL RULES OF THE EISTEDDFOD Please note the Rules stated below are relevant to every Eisteddfod – Local, Regional and National. 1. Language policy The Eisteddfod aims to promote Welsh culture and to protect the Welsh Language. Welsh is the language of the Eisteddfod. All creative works and competitions must be in Welsh except where noted otherwise for a particular competition. i) Where there is no call for knowledge of the Welsh language the competitions are open to any member of the Urdd born in Wales, or any person who has a parent born in Wales, or any person living in Wales immediately before the festival or any person who can speak or write in Welsh. Words used in any work must be in Welsh. ii) Recitation / Action Song / Dramatic Presentation / Theatre An exception may be made to use another language when there is a need to put part of the work into context. However, over - use of another language will not be permitted. iii) Disco/Hip Hop/Street Dancing / Creative Dancing It is permitted to use any instrumental music or music with Welsh language vocals only. 2. Only fully enrolled members of Urdd Gobaith Cymru may compete in Local, County/Regional and National Eisteddfodau. No one shall be considered a full member unless the membership fee has been paid and a Membership Card and number have been received for the year 2017/18. Membership must be registered in good time. Registration to compete can not be accepted without a membership number. It is possible to enrol through the website urdd.cymru/aelodaeth.

Blwyddyn / Year Adroddiad Blynyddol / Annual Report 1981-82 Disgrifiad / Description A brief description of this bequest appeared in last year's Annual Report. It consists of the manuscripts and papers of Maxwell Fraser (1902-80), authoress and travel writer, and of her husband, Edgar Phillips (`Trefin', 1889-1962), to be known at the testator's request as the `Maxwell Fraser Bequest' and the `Trefin Archdderwydd Cymru Bequest'. The `Maxwell Fraser Bequest' is by far the larger group and contains correspondence ; diaries with detailed entries, 1933-80, and a journal of a tour of Poland in 1930; drafts and typescripts of books, articles, and broadcast scripts; notes and material relating to the testator's researches in connection with these works including a large group relating to Lord and Lady Llanover and the Hall family ; circulars, newsletters and correspondence relating to the many societies of which the testator was a member (the Cambrian Archaeological Association, the International Arthurian Society, Kilvert Society, Offa's Dyke Association, P.E.N., Sherlock Holmes Society of London and other societies which reflect her interest in literature, history and archaeology, music and Celtic matters).
