The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Great Chesterford) (20MPH & 50MPH Speed Limit) Order 201* Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Section 84(1), (1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order: 1. To introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford (the roads are currently 30mph by virtue of street lighting): Road Description Carmel Street, Great For its entire length. Chesterford Carmen Street, Great For its entire length. Chesterford Church Street, Great For its entire length. Chesterford High Street, Great From its junction with Manor Lane to a point approximately 31 metres Chesterford south west of its junction with Walden Road. Jackson’s Lane, From its junction with Meadow Road to its junction with Carmel Street. Great Chesterford Manor Lane, Great For its entire length. Chesterford Rose Lane, Great For its entire length. Chesterford School Street, Great For its entire length. Chesterford South Street, Great For its entire length. Chesterford 2. To introduce a 50mph speed limit on the following length of the High Street, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford (the road is currently 30mph by virtue of street lighting): Road Description High Street, Great From its junction with Walden Road, south west for a distance of Chesterford approximately 31 metres. Further details: A copy of the draft Order, a copy of this notice, a plan illustrating the proposal and a Statement of Reasons may be examined at all reasonable hours at Network Management, County Hall, Chelmsford; Uttlesford District Council, Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden and Saffron Walden Library, 2 King Street, Saffron Walden.
