Cesar Palacio City Councillor – Ward 17 • Davenport June 13, 2016 Ms. Rosemary Mackenzie, Administrator Etobicoke York Community Council Etobicoke Civic Centre 399 The West Mall, Main Floor Dear Ms. Mackenzie: RE: STAIRWAY NAMING IN HONOUR OF THE LATE DICK WATTS An application was filed on February 13, 2016 by the Regal Heights Residents' Association and subsequently forwarded to Transportation Services, Right-of-Way Management, requesting to name the stairway located at the intersection of Regal Road and Glenholme Avenue that descends onto Davenport Road "Dick Watts Steps" in honour of the late Dick Watts. A site meeting to discuss the feasibility of this request was held on April 12, 2016 with staff of Transportation Services, Right-of-Way Management and members of the Regal Heights Residents' Association, whereby Transportation Services agreed to repair the asphalt ramp with a proper curb depression and also install the plaque, free of charge; plaque will be supplied by the Regal Heights Residents' Association, inscribed with the name "Dick Watts Steps" RECOMMENDATION: The Toronto Office of Partnerships give approval to naming the stairway located at the intersection of Regal Road and Glenholme Avenue that descends onto Davenport Road, "Dick Watts Steps", in honour of the late Dick Watts. Transportation Services will to repair the asphalt ramp with a proper curb depression and install the plaque, free of charge, which will be supplied by the Regal Heights Residents' Association and inscribed with the name "Dick Watts Steps".
