Bulletin No.: 124 Wednesday, 08 March 2017 GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk.11:29-32) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. At the judgement the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.” Reflections: The people of Jesus time were looking for a sign from God that God still loved them. Jesus did not give any sign except a sign that they should turn away from their sins and remember the Gospel. Just as Jonah preached repentance to the people of Nineveh. In our lives also in this time, many of us also seek signs that God still cares and loves us. Yet, it is the sign of Jesus, God becoming man and offer his very life for us is the sign which we shall receive. It is in giving of yourselves for the love of others and God that this sign shall truly till your life with happiness and joy. As one another that we too may be the sign to others that God still loves us and cares for us. Prayer: Lets us pray…. Father of Mercy, teach us to love one another with the love of brother and sisters that we may be a sign of your love here on earth. We ask you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen St. John Baptist de La Salle…….Pray for us! Live Jesus in our hearts………… Forever!
