This indeed is a great vision and matching this lofty vision are the unbridled aspirations of administration and faculty of UOG; bolstered up by the unstinting support of the Punjab government, HEC and the people of Punjab at large. With persistent determination and sheer shall, after protracted struggle, UOG skyline, landscape and contours are shaping up from the terrain of saint , like the proverbial phoenix. With the Noble objective of imparting quality education to young men and women in the heart of Punjab, the university has set for itself immaculate and pristine standards for learning environment. General Admission Policy for all Degree Programs (except for MS/MPhil/MCom Hons)

Admission shall be made as per UOG Admission Policy.

Admissions shall be open for, both, male and female candidates, unless mentioned.

At least 50% marks in terminal degree are required for admission

NTS/Departmental Test (at least 40% accumulative score is required to submit the application) except for Associate Degree where no NTS/departmental test shall be held

No admission form shall be accepted after the due date.

List of selected candidates shall be displayed as per schedule. The list shall also be available on UOG website (www.uog.edu.pk).

The selected candidates shall require to pay admission dues within the notified dates, otherwise the admission shall stand cancelled.

Subject to the availability of seat and merit, a candidate shall be allowed to change major discipline within due dates of add course(s), if applied for more than one discipline. No change shall be allowed after the deadline.

Under special circumstances, the UOG Competent Authority can grant relaxation in the upper age limit. Following are the age limits for various degree programs:

Admission Policy for MS/MPhil/MCom(Hons)Program after 16 years of Education

Eligibility Criteria

Admissions shall be open for, both, male and female candidates, unless mentioned.

The candidate must possess 16 years of education in his/her credit.

The candidate must have terminal degree in the same subject in which admission is sought.

Candidate exceeding 45 years of age shall not be eligible to apply. However, under special circumstances, the UOG Competent Authority can grant relaxation in the upper age limit upto 5 years for females and 2 years for male. The candidates shall apply for the relaxation in upper age limit well in time to the UOG Competent Authorities and the letter of the same must be submitted along with the application form within due dates

The candidate shall have at least 50% marks in his/her academic career except in Matriculation & Intermediate

50% marks in GAT (NTS) or GRE International General

Subject based entry test and interview shall be required for all disciplines

In-service candidates shall apply through proper channel. Advance copies shall not be entertained.

Admission Criteria for Foreign Students

Eligibility and merit criteria shall remain the same as for BS, MA/MSc/MBA and MS/MPhil/MCom (Hons) programs. Proof of English Language proficiency, if English is not the first language. IELTS with minimum 6.5 band or TOEFL with 80 percentile for IBT and 550 paper based test. The applicant must be a national of a country from where he/she is applying for the admission.

Steps for the Admission: (As per HEC Policy) 1. Foreign student seeking admission in Pakistani University/Degree Awarding Institution has to apply for admission direct to the concerned university/institution at least three months before the commencement of Fall semester and get the letter of confirmation of admission. o University shall send a copy of admission letter to HEC o HEC to confirm and endorse admission to Ministry of Interior 2. * Student approaches the Pakistani mission abroad for the visa and submits the following attested ( by notary public) documents at least two month before the start of Fall Semester o Application Form (Student Visa Form) o Photocopy of passport o Photograph o Educational Documents o Admission letter of university 3. The Pakistani mission abroad forwards all the documents to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad for further processing 4. Ministry of Foreign Affairs forwards all documents to Ministry of Interior for security clearance o Copy to Ministry of Education/Health o Copy to HEC 5. Ministry of Interior as per policy to complete all process within 4 weeks and sends visa advice to Mission concerned o Copy to HEC o Copy to Ministry of Foreign Affairs 6. HEC send information of visa advice by email to o University o Ministry of Education/Health Visa to be issued for duration of studies to be renewed annually inclusive of security clearance. * Note: The student can also forward documents (mentioned in step 2) through the Embassy of his/her own country in Pakistan.

Transfer of Credit Hours Policy

1. The regular meeting of the University of Gujrat designated committee shall be held 15 days before the commencement of a regular semester or as per directives of the Competent Authority. 2. Based on an authentic/logical plea, duly supported by written evidence, one shall apply for transfer of credits from a Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, recognized University/degree awarding institute to the University of Gujrat (UOG) or within the UOG affiliated colleges/departments/degree programs/disciplines, at least one month before the commencement of a regular semester. 3. Subject to the similarity and equivalence of at least 50% of courses of the respective discipline/degree and availability of seat(s), the transfer of credit request (s) shall be processed for a regular semester only, whereas no transfer of credits, what-so- ever, shall be allowed in the first semester and after the fifth semester. 4. The merit of the applicant shall be higher or on at a par with the last admitted candidate in that particular discipline/degree program/batch. 5. The desirous applicant shall submit the copies of all previous transcripts, his/her latest photograph, duly verified by the Registrar/Principal/Chairperson/Head of the Department of the institution he/she was enrolled in, along with an application on a plain paper. 6. The applicant shall have CGPA of at least 2.00 on a scale of 1 to 4. 7. Depending upon the similarity and equivalence of the courses, only Credit Hours of courses shall be transferred which shall have at least 65% marks. 8. The Registrar shall place the request (s) for transfer of credits before the designated committee of UOG after getting recommendation from the concerned department 9. The Registrar shall issue NOC to the student concerned on the recommendation of the designated committee of UOG. 10. The student concerned shall provide a Clearance Certificate from his/her previous institution and shall register himself/herself with the UOG within the stipulated time. 11. The student shall have to cover the entire deficient course (s) (if any) within the stipulated time for the completion of a particular degree. 12. Acceptance of transfer of credits does not entitle a student to hostel accommodation or any other facility for which the concerned authorizes shall have to be approached. 13. The application fee for transfer of credits shall be the same as the latest admission application fee and deposited in the authorized branch of the designated bank.

Work Study Program (WSP)

Work Study Program is for the senior students only. Thus, the students of BS (Hons)/LLB 3rd Semester and onwards, MBBS 2nd year (1st Professional) and onwards MSC 3rd Semester or 2nd year and onward can apply on the prescribed form that shall be available on UOG Website and at the Photostat shop, Hafiz Hayat Campus. The complete form shall be submited to the concerned Department.

The merit criteria to apply for WSP is:

≥ 3.0 (for Semester System)

≥65% (for Annual System)

The selected candidates shall serve for 12 hours a week (48 hours in a month) in the academic activities of their respective department, assigned by the respective Chairperson/HOD/Coordinator or Principal College(s), through well defined Work Plans.

Fee Concession Tuition fee concession is on need basis, 5% of the total number of students of each class of each department are eligible to get fee concession. (If the number of the students is less than 5%, the rest of concession shall be shifted to the other class/ department.

General Fee Concession is given to the following on the basis of need:

Govt. teacher grade 1 to 16 Sons/Daughters shall be given 50% concession in tuition fee.

In the case of Kinship 50% concession shall be given in tuition fee to one sibling (maximum two).

In the case of Hafiz Quran- if a student is Hafiz Quran 50% concession shall be given in tuition fee, but the interview shall be must which shall be conducted by the committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor for this purpose.

In the case of disabled students, full concession in tuition fee shall be given.

Half/Full concession shall be given to UOG employees (on duty) on need basis and Retired Govt. /UOG employees and orphans shall get fee concession on need basis.

The time period of fee concession shall be one academic year. All the students must deposit their total fee after admission. The financial assistance in fee concession shall be refunded /adjusted later on. If a student is not promoted to the next semester he/she shall not be entitled to get fee concession / financial Assistance.

Financial Assistance Program (FAP)

The decision for granting financial aid is taken by the Financial Aid Committee on the basis of need. Financial Aid is also dependent on the availability of funds with the University.

The Financial Aid Committee assesses the financial need of the candidates and determines whether or not the candidates and their families have adequate resources to finance education at UOG. The need is determined on the basis of the statement of financial resources submitted by the student at the time of submission of applications, other sources of information required, and interviews of the applicants by the Financial Aid Committee.

The program is open for the entire BS (Hons)/ LLB/ MBBS/MSc students of UOG. Those students who are already availing any other financial aid from UOG may also apply for this program. The students shall apply on a prescribed application form that shall be available at the Students’ Services Center (SSC) during office hours or on UOG web, free of cost.

The stipend shall be for two semesters.

Reserved Seats (other than Engineering & Medical Disciplines)

1. Disabled Persons:

2% seats (at least one seat) are reserved for disabled persons. The applicant shall produce a disability certificate, issued by the UOG Medical Board / Committee. The applicant shall qualify the minimum academic requirement of admission in UOG.

Note: Hard of Hearing shall not be considered as a disability.

2. Sports:

1% seats (at least one seat) are reserved for sports person for Associate and BS Programs in the departments of Sociology, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Education, and Fine Art. The applicant shall provide a registration certificate from Provincial/District Sports Board. The applicant shall provide a certificate of distinction (if any). Final selection shall be made on the basis of trials for each sport that shall be held at UOG.. The applicant shall qualify the minimum academic requirement of admission in UOG. The University, according to its requirement shall specify the kinds of sports.

3. Co-curricular Activities

1% seats (at least one seat) are reserved for co-curricular activities (debates, poetry) for Associate and BS Programs except Engineering The applicant shall provide a certificate of distinction (if any) in the co-curricular activities at college/university level. Final selection shall be based on auditions at UOG. The University reserves the rights to specify the degree(s)/subject(s)/Discipline(s) for co-curricular activity reserve seats.

4. Children/Spouse of UOG Employees:

2% seats (at least one) are reserved for the Children/Spouse of UOG regular/long-term contractual employees (excluding staff on deputation). Birth Certificate / NADRA B-Form.

5. FATA and Balochistan:

2% seats (at least one) are reserved for the applicants of FATA and Balochistan in all degree programs except Engineering and Medical. The applicants shall produce nomination letter from the respective government. In case of more than reserved quota nominations, UOG shall reserve the rights to prepare the merit list. The applicant shall qualify the minimum academic requirements for admission in UOG.

6. Diploma Holder:

5% seats are reserved for diploma holders in BSc Engineering (Chemical and Electrical). The diploma holders shall fulfill all the requirements of admission as per Pakistan Engineering Council criteria.

Fee Refund Policy Admission fee is non-refundable. A student has to apply in writing for withdrawal of admission if he/she wants to get the security refunded before the completion of the programme. The dues, once deposited, cannot be refunded (except security). Security deposit will be refunded, provided there are no outstanding dues. Tuition fee refund can only be considered if the application is received by the University before the display of the third merit list. No adjustment is allowed out of the security amount before the completion of the degree. In case a student is expelled from the programme on disciplinary/administrative grounds, the refund of hostel dues will become inadmissible.
