SPECIAL COMMUTER FARE PROGRAMS 10 RIDES FOR PRICE OF 8 COMMUTER FARE APPLICATION OF TARIFF: Fares will be based on Regular Adult One-Way Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp. Fares published by Greyhound Canada and Greyhound Canada fares in the Canadian Passenger Tariff No. 1-A issued by N.B.T.A. TRAVEL LIMITS: All commuter tickets issued under authority of this tariff will be valid for six (6) months from date of sale. SURCHARGES: NOT exempt from the applicable Intra/Inter Provincial surcharges. FORM OF TICKET: The following forms of commutation ticket stock MUST be used for all commuter sales. (a) Manual ticket stock: form C-10-R, "10 RIDE COMMUTATION TICKET". (1 I.D. check) one receipt. (b) P.O.S. tickets: COMMUTER (OW COM-10) format (1 I.D. check). One receipt with 10 travel coupons. (c) P.O.S. tickets: O.W.S. COM-10 format (10 I.D. checks). Ten individual receipts with each of the 10 travel coupons. RESTRICTIONS: (1) Commuter tickets take the form of one-way travel coupons which are valid from travel in either direction between the two points named. (2) NO Stopovers are permitted. (3) Commuter tickets are transferable. (4) Commuter tickets may be used for group travel (5) All detached, altered or mutilated coupons will be VOID. Entire commuter book must be presented to the driver, who will detach Coupon(s). REFUNDS: Commuter tickets WILL be redeemed to the original purchaser, at the fare paid when no portion of the ticket has been used, less a refund penalty of 20%. In cases where the ticket is partially used, refund will be made on the difference, less a refund penalty of 20%, if any, between the fare paid for the ticket and the value of the rides used, calculated at the regular One-Way fare, upon submission to the Head Office Customer Service Department of the Carrier. RATES: Ten (10) Ride Commuter tickets will be sold between any two points at Eight (8x) times the Regular Adult One Way fare (including applicable surcharges & GST), where such Regular One-Way is two ($2.00) dollars or more.     Backgrounder on Application 256-17 (Greyhound Canada Transportation ULC) Updated April 25, 2018 On February 20, 2018, the PT Board approved Greyhound’s application to • eliminate o service on six routes in the North Central region of B.C., o three routes in southwestern B.C., o three route segments: the Fraser Canyon area, Hope to Kaledan Junction (via highways 3 & 3A) and along highway 97 from Monte Lake to Vernon o some route points on remaining routes • set a minimum service requirement floor of four trips weekly (2 times in each direction) on the 10 remaining routes. Appendix 1 below provides more details on PT Board decisions on routes or route points. Greyhound must operate in the North Central Region and on the three route segments until May 31, 2018. This allows Greyhound passengers to travel safely over the harsh winter months. Greyhound may reduce service on these routes in the interim. People who want to start a new bus service will have time to apply. The decision sets a floor of four trips weekly on the 10 routes that Greyhound continues to serve. Greyhound can adjust service up or down to the floor to meet passenger demand. Greyhound may also drop some stops on these routes. Greyhound must post notice on its website and in depots before it makes any schedule changes. The Board heard from many people and communities about the application. They said that service reductions increase public safety concerns, especially in areas where transportation options are limited and winters are harsh. They also said that Greyhound provides a necessary service to some people.
