APRESENTAÇÃO A Malásia situa-se no Sudeste Asiático, com território dividido entre o sul da Península Malaia e o norte da Ilha de Bornéu. Sua atual conformação remonta à fusão, em 1963, da Federação Malaia, que unia monarquias malaias da península e lograra sua independência da Grã-Bretanha em 1957; de Singapura; e de Sabah (então Bornéo do Norte) e Sarawak, ex-colônias britânicas em Bornéu. Em 1965, tensões políticas culminaram na expulsão de Singapura da Federação. Conquanto multiétnica, a Malásia é país de maioria muçulmana, que tem o islamismo como religião oficial. Apresenta elevados níveis de crescimento econômico há décadas, com grande abertura comercial e integração às cadeias globais de valor. Juntamente com Brunei, Camboja, Filipinas, Indonésia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapura, Tailândia e Vietnã, integra a Associação de Nações do Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN), agrupamento com ampla rede de acordos comerciais – tanto regionais, firmados conjuntamente pelo bloco com terceiros, quanto bilaterais, firmados por seus membros individualmente. PERFIS BIOGRÁFICOS Sultão Abdullah de Pahang Chefe de Estado Título original: XVI Yang di-Pertuan Agong Nasceu em Pekan, no estado de Pahang (do qual é sultão), na Malásia, em 30 de julho de 1959. Graduou-se em Relações Internacionais e Diplomacia. Cursou a Real Academia Militar Sandhurst, no Reino Unido, e, na Malásia, teve carreira militar, tendo ascendido a brigadeiro-general em 2004. Foi designado príncipe- herdeiro em 1975, tendo finalmente ascendido ao trono de Pahang em 15 de janeiro de 2019, com a abdicação de seu pai, sultão Ahmad Shah. Foi membro do Conselho da Federação Internacional de Futebol (FIFA), presidente da Associação de Futebol da Malásia (FAM) e vice-presidente da Confederação Asática de Futebol (AFC). O cargo de chefe de estado (Yang di-Pertuan Agong) da Malásia é rotativo, alternando-se entre os monarcas dos estados da federação a cada cinco anos. Najib said the government was committed to fulfill the development agendas that were pledged because such commitments from BN are not empty promises like that pledged by the opposition. "Do not be influenced or convinced by promises made by the opposition. The people do not want empty promises. Promises must be fulfilled. Eight graduates‟ competencies and Graduate Skills, Revealed Knowledge, values that were hypothesised as predictors of employment are Religiosity, Acquired Knowledge. Teamwork, Leadership, ICT, Entrepreneurship, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Ethics. Among the eight variables, Leadership, Ethics, and Religiosity were hypothesised as the mediators for this research. A structured Malay version self-administered questionnaire was distributed to all USIM alumni graduated between year 2003 until 2013 by using an Alumni Portal. The total number of population for this study is 9,840 graduates. 1146 responds were received by the researchers in the first half year of data collection. Results of the hierarchical regression analysis revealed that the eight predictors of employability explained 37 percent variance of employment status. Specifically, the analysis demonstrated Leadership, Ethics, and Religiosity completely mediated the influence of ICT, Communication, Thinking Ability, and Teamwork competencies toward graduates‟ employment status. In sum, this research found that value-related graduates‟ competencies are important for employability. This could support the focus of USIM to integrate Islamic values in the development of their curriculum and education design.
