During that time he led the launch and expansion of the Pantene hair care brand in several European countries. From 1986 to 1988 he directed marketing and strategic planning for Gucci SpA. Mr. Freda attended University of Naples Federico II and holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration. In 2012, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of BlackRock, Inc. In 2013, Mr. Freda was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Global Business Initiative at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. AHMED SHIDE State Minister of Finance and Economic Development Federal Republic of Ethiopia His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Shide Mohamed serves as the State Minister of Finance and Economic Development of Ethiopia. The Ministry, besides allocating budget, introduces new and efficient ways of utilizing resources to both federal and regional governments. A “Pool Service”, is one of the ministry’s innovations. The Ministry has recently introduced Financial Administration Proclamation and Procurement and property Administration Proclamation Amendment drafts. The amendment proclamations enables the country to close the gaps that might be observed in the finance, procurement and property management of the nation and to create internationally accepted financial working systems.

H.E. BERHANU KEBEDE Ambassador Federal Republic of Ethiopia H.E. Berhanu has had a long career in diplomacy. In 1983 he transferred to the Diplomatic Mission in Brussels as an economist where he represented Ethiopia in financial, technical and industrial committees. He participated in negotiations leading to the Lome II and III conventions – international aid and trade agreements between the African, Caribean and Pacific (ACP) Countries group and the European Union (EU).In 1992 he returned to Addis Ababa to take up the position of Head of the Western European Division as Counselor. Later that year he was promoted to Director General, and it was in this role chaired the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) meeting of the African Economic Community, all UN General Assembly sessions as deputy leader of the Ethiopia delegation, and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Council. On 7 th December 2000, he was appointed Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Russian Federation, with the rank of Ambassador. In February 2002, he was appointed Ambassador of Ethiopia to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, before his appointment as Ambassador to the United Kingdom in March 2006. He has participated in various national committees, such as the EU/Ethiopia Relations Ministerial Conference, the National Committee on the World Trade Organisation Membership of Ethiopia and the Committee Established to Study the Impact of the Free Trade Area Under COMESA on the Ethiopian Economy. H.E. Berhanu speaks Amharic, English and French. He studied at Addis Ababa University and graduated from the Department of Economics in Planning and Project Analysis, and has a Masters of Economics in Management and Finance, from the University of Brussels.

TEWOLDE GEBREMARIAM Chief Executive Officer Ethiopian Airlines Tewolde GebreMariam was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer, the position that he is currently holding, of Ethiopian on January 2011. He began his career with Ethiopian in 1985 as Transportation Agent and has held a number of senior leadership positions in a number of divisions in the Airline including; Ethiopian Cargo, Area Offices and Sales and Marketing. On July 2006, Mr. Tewolde was also appointed as Chief Operating Officer to head all the operating divisions of the airline. In July 2013, he became the first CEO of an African airline to receive “ The Airline Strategy Award for Regional Leadership” in the award’s 12 year history. The award is given out annually by Airline Business Magazine , a publication of Flight Global , a leading media brand in the aviation world. Mr. Tewolde graduated from Addis Ababa University with a B.A. Degree in Economics. He earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Open University in the United Kingdom.

He recently led a high powered Mergers & Acquisition team for one of the biggest UK multinationals in its largest acquisition ever in Africa. Mr. Negatu has lived in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia. He has been featured on CNN, BBC, CNBC, SABC, and by many other global media organizations. For Angola and DRC, Florival successfully negotiated the agreements between DeBeers and the Angolan and DRC Governments that culminated with DeBeers return to both countries. Florival also acted as Senior Legal Counsel for De Beers Group Services (Johannesburg, South Africa), dealing with contracts and negotiations in Southern Africa. In this capacity jointly with Anglo-American and other stakeholders in the mining industry, Florival participated in the drafting and subsequent hearings of the first Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Bill post 1994, which took into account the new political dispensation and promoted Black Empowerment and participation in the minerals and petroleum industries. At Barclays Capital/ABSA, Lisa was Director in Emerging Markets Structuring responsible for increasing its investment banking origination and execution for African and offshore institutional investors; and separately, Head of Sub-Sahara Africa distribution, team, and capital market approvals for 10 countries. At JP Morgan and BOA, Lisa was Principal in EMEA Financial Sponsors & Leveraged Finance arranging and executing 17

Kevin spent 6 years as a director of Actis Africa Real Estate Fund, the first private equity Real Estate Fund to invest in and develop A-grade properties in SSA. He led the exits of Accra Mall (the first A-grade retail property in Ghana) and Capital Properties (the first A-grade office property in Tanzania) to completion to offshore buyers, setting the benchmark for exits in both West and East Africa. Private Equity, Mezzanine & Alternative Investments ALADDIN EL-AFIFI Managing Director Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel) Aladdin El-Afifi is a Managing Director at Citadel Capital, a Cairo based private equity firm turned conglomerate. He is heading the firm’s investments in the Mining Sector, one of five core sectors Citadel Capital is focusing on, managing operations involving quarry management, the production of calcium carbonate and mineral insulation and the exploration of precious metals. He is also heading the firm’s investments in solid waste management through Tawazon. Saad started his career in 2004 in JP Morgan in London. Following his investment banking experience, Saad joined Kingdom Zephyr Africa Management in 2008, the leading pan-African private equity fund at the time. Saad sourced, executed, managed and exited multiple transactions for Kingdom Zephyr, including the exit from CNIA Saada in Morocco. KARIM BURHANI Managing Director Emerging Investment Partners Karim M. Burhani is a Co-Founder and Managing Di rector at Emerging Investment Partners. He has over 12 years in Private Equity and Corporate Finance practice in the MENA region. Prior to co-founding EIP in 2014, Mr. Burhani served for eight years as a Director in EuroMena Funds sponsored by Capital Trus t Group. At the Fund he oversaw several of the Group’s activities across the MENA region. These responsibilities included deal sourcing, developing a nd maintaining relationships with investment banks, private equity houses and advisory firms in MENA and GC C; reviewing, screening and analyzinzing investment opportunities; execution, due diligence and monitoring activities among others. Investor Presentations ALI MOHAMED Head of Africa Qatar Financial Centre Established by the Government of Qatar in 2005, the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) is an on-shore Centre which has become an integral part of Qatar’s economy and rapid growth story. ROBERT HORNSBY Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer American Homebuilders of West Africa Robert (Bob) Hornsby is Co-Founder and CFO of Jobomax Global (d.b.a. American Homebuilders of West Africa), a US-registered LLC engaged through its wholly owned subsidiaries in development, design, land acquisition, construction and sale of high quality residential and commercial buildings in West Africa. In the past two decades Bob has built and led teams as a business development and project management executive in entrepreneurial and small business ventures. From 2000 to 2004 he was President of technology services company Slingshot Solutions, where he co-authored US Patent No. 7,228,287 and led the company's fundraising and strategic partnering agendas. He subsequently directed new business unit development for USAID contractor Overseas Strategic Consulting before co-founding JOBOMAX in 2005. Prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Hornsby served in the Peace Corps in West Africa as a public health volunteer. Bob speaks French and English, and basic Japanese. SARAH RYAN Director, Alumni Relations (EMEA) The Wharton School After graduating with a degree in economics from Duke University, Sarah Ryan began her career at Merrill Lynch in the global industries coverage group in her hometown of Chicago, where she advised companies in the industrial and automotive sectors on strategic alternatives, and then in equity capital markets in London, where she marketed, priced and allocated IPOs, secondaries and convertible-bond offerings. Sarah returned to Merrill Lynch after Wharton, joining the M&A group in London. She also was director of international M&A for LexisNexis and Thomson Financial. In these roles, she led transaction due diligence and structured complex deal terms globally, including deals in the Middle East, Russia, China, India, South Africa and Europe. After ten years in investment banking, Sarah changed career paths and joined Wharton External Affairs, covering Alumni Relations and Development for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based out of London.
