EDMONTON (June 11, 2019) – Line of Duty, the critically acclaimed UK police corruption drama written and created by Jed Mercurio (Bodyguard), returns to Super Channel for the exclusive Canadian premiere of a fifth enthralling season on Monday, July 15 at 9 p.m. ET. Each hour-long episode of the six-episode season will also be available to subscribers on Super Channel On Demand the day following its weekly linear broadcast.
Line of Duty is a cat-and-mouse thriller that takes a probing look into modern police corruption. Each season features a new guest lead and season five stars Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire’s Al Capone, Save Me, Peaky Blinders) and Rochenda Sandall (Black Mirror) alongside series regulars – Martin Compston (The Great Train Robbery, Sweet Sixteen) as DS Steve Arnott, Vicky McClure (Broadchurch) as DS Kate Fleming, and 2018 BAFTA Award Nominee Adrian Dunbar (Blood) as Supt. Ted Hastings.
Continuing its tradition of gripping storylines and breathtaking cliff-hangers, season five recently premiered to its highest ratings ever on BBC One in the UK, and follows a new case for AC-12 set nearly two years after the hit crime drama's previous season.
In season five, Stephen Graham stars as John Corbett, the ruthless leader of an Organized Crime Group (OCG) who hijack a seized drugs transport. AC-12 investigators Superintendent Ted Hastings, Detective Inspector Kate Fleming and Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott suspect corrupt police officers of leaking information. As the body count rises, AC-12 realize they’re facing their most vicious adversary yet.
