Fourteen outbreaks have been identified in France, which has had to increase its risk level nationwide. This status has a major impact on exports, despite the introduction of the ‘regionalisation’ standards advocated by the World Organisation for Animal Health. Other outbreaks have also been identified in Germany, Hungary, Austria, Finland, Croatia, Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland. 1. What measures has the Commission taken to support the national measures which have been adopted to tackle this outbreak? 2. In the Commission’s view, what financial impact will this crisis have on the European poultry sector? 3. Given the current situation, does the Commission intend to trigger Article 220 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, which provides for exceptional market support measures in order to take account of restrictions on intra-Union and third-country trade which may result from the application of health management measures and serious market disturbances directly attributed to a loss in consumer confidence? 1112919.EN PE 596.448 .

We welcome your initiative and the broad political support for strengthened action on raw materials. President von der Leyen insisted in her presentation of Next Generation EU on the need to increase the resilience and open strategic autonomy of the EU, notably by promoting investment in key value chains that are crucial for our future resilience. In line with the new industrial strategy, the Commission adopted, on 3 September 2020, an action plan on critical raw materials. One of the actions is to create a European Raw Materials Alliance, involving all relevant stakeholders. In addition, the Commission services have published a report looking at critical raw material needs for strategic sectors - such as renewable energy, e- mobility, digitalisation, aerospace and defence - that will be required in 2030 and 2050. The funds allocated to strengthen the EU economy need to be commensurate to the challenges we face. The InvestEU Programme identifies funding for primary and secondary raw materials in the sustainable infrastructure policy window. In addition, Horizon Europe will fund innovation to strengthen market intelligence and development throughout the life cycle of raw materials, i.e. production, recycling and substitution solutions. Non-budgetary policies will also accompany these measures to reinforce the EU open strategic autonomy while also defending our values.

26th June 2017 Declaration Unfinished Justice: Restitution and Remembrance (Following European Conference on Restorative Justice Brussels, 26th April 2017) Preamble It is now more than seventy years after the Holocaust (Shoah) in which six million Jews – seventy-five percent of the Jewish population of Europe – were murdered. Only a small fraction of private and communal immovable and movable property illegitimately seized from Jewish victims has been returned or compensated to rightful owners, heirs, or to the Jewish people at large. Many Holocaust survivors live in poverty and without adequate social care, and their social welfare needs are expanding rapidly as they age. In light of the above We, members of the European Parliament, affirm the moral responsibility of European Union member states to advance Holocaust-era property restitution. We also declare our enduring commitment to the provision of adequate and immediate social welfare support for Holocaust survivors, the demarcation, protection and preservation of Jewish cemeteries, mass graves and other burial sites, the preservation of Jewish heritage sites, and the promotion of Holocaust education, research and remembrance. We recognize the commitment of the European Parliament to restitution of Holocaust-era assets as called for in previous resolutions of the Parliament and reaffirm past international principles and declarations that reflect a consensus for the restitution of Holocaust-era assets.
